Hi,

Thinking about buying the above mentioned car.

Can and one point me in the direction of a thread for things to look out for.

Or let me know what to look out for.

And if the reviews are true to there word in hyping it up. As I'll go for the 2.0 tdi if not but the 3.0 tdi seems impressive compared to the 2.0 for not a huge increase in running costs.

Just find owners give more honest opinions than magazines.

Thanks in advance for any help

They are a very reliable engine, there aren't that many common issues with them. The most common issue is with the swirl flaps on the intake, this can be sorted in 30 minutes with some new parts that cost £30 .

With a remap they will goto 300bhp and still give you low to mid 30's around town and mid 40's on a run.

I have changed the swirl flaps on mine and it's an easy job.Have a look at the build thread for my car linked below.
Karl.

I had one before the S4. Never missed a beat Jama. Get it tuned and it will amaze you. The returns tune wise on the CDUC motor are pretty high. I went with Oettinger. A torque beast, with very little fuel usage.

Good engines in the V6 I have had 2 but the b8 has slightly more power and very refined. You wont be disapointed, fuel is ace especially now Diesel prices have dropped lol

Only had mine for 2 months, just got back from a 3000 mile round trip touring France and Italy, it managed 41.3 average mpg overall and I wasnt always light with the right foot. Very comfortable, powerful and smooth. I've had 2 B7 2 litre TDIs and whilst they were great cars this is much more refined. Go for it!
