Hello everyone.

Names Will. Or William depending if I'm busted by the fam. I live in sunny Sydney Australia.
Just saying a little hello to everyone I just joined up and want to introduce myself and my little toy.

I pick them both up this week sometime, the silver one is the main car, with 166 ish thousand kms on her she ticked all the right boxes. And it included the red one with the sale!

So far it has an exhaust and been lowered and that's about it... Which is good.
As soon as I get them home I'll update with more pics and info, cheers :)

aye another member from Australia! nice!

so what's the plans for the red one? how dark is the tint on the silver one. looks great!

The red one will be a parts car for the time being. Have been told that it runs and drives and it would need to get blue slipped for rego. So would rather use it for emergency parts or part it out.
Not sure about the tints to be honest. They are crazy dark that's for sure

Hi welcome to audi-sport.net. Cars look good. Hope you enjoy the forum. :) x

Thanks everyone... I'm a euro car for a while and owned many Opel's...

This was my last car. Astra turbo with around 160kwatw. My partner purchased it off me so I needed a new toy to play with

Opel/ Vauxhall/Holden, oh dear, thank god you've seen the light.

Hey everyone so I just picked her up this evening and I must say its really nice to drive... It has a little bit of poke in her and the gearbox feel positive and smooth...
Only downside is I think the valve cover gasket is gone... But I work for Repco so its cheap for a new one...

Little update.

Noticed that the cooler didn't appear to be in the right place I decided to pull off the front bar and have a looksie...

The top mount had snapped off the cooler and she was missing the lower bolt.

So, having a giant shed and many tools (including myself as a tool) I made a new mount with some alloy and reused a rubber mount.

Was only a tiny bit off but didn't do any measuring so I'm pretty happy.

Also aligned headlights... Going to get the one piece items soon.

Ordered valve cover, CV joint boots, drop links, strut tops... Should have them Wednesday... Yay!

Have you removed the MAP sensor? its missing from the first picture... second picture suggests that bracket was cobbled together to block the MAP sensor hole...

There is a plug over the hope for the Map sensor... I thought the agu motor didn't have one? I looked everywhere around there for it...

Ah... so they have used the SMIC from a AUM then and blanked it off?

<tuffty/>

Looks like a proper planking plate by the look of it... Tight fit and thick oring.

No original AGU SMIC I have ever seen has a fixing for a MAP sensor as they never came with one...

Maybe a smic off a newer one? Or maybe a silly Australian delivered thing?

Like I said in my previous post... looks like its one from an AUM with a make shift blanking plate... considering how difficult parts are to come across I am not surprised... guess they are not 'roo proof huh lol

<tuffty/>

Very few things are here...
And like my previous car, getting parts is not too hard... Just got to get them from the UK usually

Did fuel filter and rocker cover gasket on little boost... PITA for the fuel filter!

Also had to fix the boost pipe from the smic to the t/b.. Lucky I had enough clamps and some pipe for it

Lol... Surprisingly I have had 5 Opel's and not once had major issues.
Yes that is surprising, I'd have thought you would have learned your lesson after the first one, lol.

Another little pic. The silly sticker is gone now and the black rubber paint is pealing off the wheels. I'll pressure wash it all off soon.

Hey peeps just a quick q&a... I'm looking to get some coilovers for the car and I have read that some of you guys are using the jamecs... Are these any good or is there another budget brand I could use?
I had a look at the pro-sport or whoever they are...
Thank for the help :)

Jom are good for the price, I had them on my old A3, they are quite harsh on ruff roads, about the cheapest available, just make sure you give the threads a good coat of copper slip or grease, as they seize up and you can't adjust them.

Another quicky...

I have some Subaru liberty rims that are 5x100 pcd but the offset might be the downside... Et38 vs et47... Is that bad? Cheers

centre bore is different for subi rims...

the wheel will be more inside the arches at et47, check for caliper clearance. you might need spacers

Cheers mate, I trued them and centre bore is 1mm smaller so no wheels for me :-(

Yeah I know how you feel. It would make finding wheels easier but the fitment for ours are a little harder to find... Unless you have adapters/spacers.

Although the new a1's should open things up a bit for choice.

Just wish we were in the UK where item rims are bountfiful!!!

On another note.

Rear parcel tray was faded and crummy... So a can of duplicolor for carpet and done!
