So, what's the best way to get to know all the angles of your new car? Clean it!
Have been into detailing for about 6/7 years but due to having kids and no time so my last two cars (golf R32 and DS5) were regulars at the local £5 hand wash. I decided this had to change for the new ride and stocked up on some bits to try.
Any method or product advice is appreciated, also need to learn how to photograph cars.
So I started with the wheels, AF imperial and a brush for the tight bits then Gyeon Q2M iron and a wash with a mitt and shampoo, love these new rims as I can reach everywhere by hand
Not too bad to start with
Gyeon doing its thing
They were then dried and a coat of mint rims was applied (the beading from this is ace and looks wicked)
I then went to bed and started nice and early this morning
AF citrus was used as a pre wash then the car was washed using the 2BM
Polished bliss clear buckets showing the benefits of the method even on a car that is only a few days old
No photos of anything else as I like to work quick, Gyeon Q2M tar was sprayed, left to dwell, wiped and rinsed away, same then for Q2M iron before the car was thoroughly rinsed and dried.
Even the previous step probably removed 80%+ of the contamination I still clayed, hardly anything was picked up but better safe than sorry.
I then applied a thin film of Carlack complete, left it to haze and then buffed it away, Carlack longlife was then applied and buffed away immediately panel by panel, this was left to cure for 30mins before applying a second coat and then a final wipe down with Carlack fast detailer.
My plan is another coat of longlife every week for a month then it should be good for 6 months or so.
The Carlack kit has transformed the Daytona grey, it has such a depth of flake pop now
Here are a few crap photos
Plans for the car..... Not a lot right now, keep it defect free and ensure it always looks slick till the new year, then as soon as Revo develop a map for the 190 engine I have it will get a map, an RS4 grill and maybe a big brake conversion
Cheers for looking
