Ive just installed Ross tech lite and ordered a cable of eBay but when I try to test the configuration it says port ok interface not found any ideas

Have you got the cable yet? Because it wont find the interface unless it's plugged in.

Yeah I got a eBay cable plug it in it lites up red. I also tried using the bag com version that com. With the cable while this does connect and starts a full scan that stops asking for a authorisation code?

With my eBay cable I had to go into device manager and change the com port address of the cable so that it see it. I'll see if I can dig out the guide I used

Cheers will give that a go later so I can delete the vag com version that came with cable and just use vcds

The latest version of VCDS Lite is here

You don't have to register it if you don't want to. If registered it will give you access to all the facilities, unregistered basically allows you to read and clear codes and log measurements real time.
What version of windows are you using ? . ignition need to be on in the car.

So I've managed to mess up my control locking use to only work if you were within a meter of the car I cleared fault codes and control locking wouldn't work I managed to re sync the fob it locked unlocked then this morning wouldn't work again so re synced and an hour later had to use key indoor to open it now I get fault codes
00935 and 01134

Well there is probably the issue. Looking at the Ross Tech site

"We don't officially support it but have received reports that VCDS-Lite works with Windows 10 preview when run in compatibility mode as well."

Nightmare now I have to open car with key and if I don't put in ignition the boot won't unlock and alarm goes off haha
