HELP, put 19" rims on and steering shakes at 60mph???

alright buddy, had this same problem myself before I put my 18" rims on. All it is, they haven't been balanced or if they have they're still off balance bud. Take them to you nearest tyre shop or where you got them fitted and get them balanced up mate.

If the rims have been balanced recently and you still have vibration do the wheels have the correct size centre bore , do they have spigot rings fitted,
If that isn't the issue then one or both may have a buckled or damged rim or a tyre is out of shape. Part worn tyres can be damaged and cause issues.

Ok guys thanks will have them checked out today.

1. spigot rings.
2. if you have reused Audi bolts you need to change to taper bolts (possibly).

^^^This. Aftermarket wheels seem to use tapered-head bolts. Audi wheels use radius-head bolts. So if you use Audi bolts on the aftermarket wheels then you get a wobble. I only learned this myself the other day from reading the following post: click me

All good advice. And one more thing, are you using spacers? I had 5mm spacers on at a stage and they caused a slight vibration in my steering wheel.

Took the alloy off and there is a massive lump on the tyre (egg as its called by my tyre shop) so the tyre will be replaced later on today and we shall see the outcome. Thanks for your posts guys!!

will see if the new tyre solves the problem if not bolts are next on the list

Even if the bubble in the tyre fixes the problem, you should still find out which bolts your wheels need and use the correct ones.

Wheel bolts letting go at 70MPH isn't gonna be a pretty sight.

So if I fit h+r spacers to standard wheels I need extra length radius bolts?

So I woe have to purchase as an extra?

I only have experience of H&R Trak+ spacers. In the box I got the spacers, bolts to hold the spacer to the hub face of the car and longer wheels bolts to bolt the wheel to the spacer/hub combo.

In effect, everything I needed was in the one box. So in terms of your question, no you don't need to purchase extra.

I'm looking at the h+r trak ,but didn't wanna fit em then get the wheel wobble and have to buy another set of wheel bolts

They're the best on the market as far as I know. I'm sure @DPM can clarify the wheel bolt situation and I've bought suspension stuff from Damian before and never had an issue.

Quick update fellas, the wobble was cured. I will be looking into the bolts. Im pretty sure i have some for a 56 plate astra which i put aftermarket alloys on and had to buy "special bolts" from the shop. Can someone tell me if they would fit the audi? Thanks again for your input people ;)
