Right so my S3 2001, has decided to drop boost when I hit a bump this used to only happen when cold but has started to happen when hot occasionally too it if I put my foot down when it's bad it throws an EPC, I'm wondering if the throttle pedal is dodgy or some loose connection but not sure where to start! Any help appreciated thanks
Frank

Doesn't throw a code Bill unless I put foot hard down and I can't remember what code it was! Will check it when next out

Right got a code at last Bill, P2138 came back twice this morning

Have you not got the VCDS code/description for this? the code isn't on Ross Tech's wiki specifically..

Suggests faulty throttle pedal...

Bill... remember that TTQS? this sounds like the same issue

Hi Tufty
No unfortunately I only have the OBD reader code, my son has an S3 amk so could swop parts over to narrow it down (easiest first haha)

Worth a punt... also worth sorting out VCDS Lite if you can... generic code readers are ok at a push but VCDS gives the VAG specific codes which tend to be more granular than generic OBDII

if it randomly cut n75.. and logs confirmed that, its fault was throttle pedal.. Not one faultcode thrown however

Any links to the correct cable/software as there seems a lot on eBay?..

Just a bit related to this I had a check out of the IAT sensor (after the throttled body) and noticed it had a coating on the wires but looked like
Some parts had worn off could this have an effect to some degree on running?..

Right the problem is now sorted thank god!
Massive thanks to Wak from the TT forum who vagcommed my S3 and tracked the limp mode/throttle prob to a wire by the boost gauge pipe that had been pinched and was broken hence not allowing the correct voltage to the relevant throttle requirements
Absolute legend!!!
