So my Aux fan doesn't kick in when the AC is on so I only get cold air on the move. Any common items to check out why the fan isn't running?

Have you tried hot wiring the fan? (Fiddly I know), it may be the fan that's packed in, mine hasn't worked since owning the car and I've heard of 2 others with dead fans, a common failure I think and easy swap
I might just give that a go first.
It wouldn't usually be a problem but the recent high temperatures we've had made me realise the fault.
We have a B6 A4 too and whenever the turn the AC on on that the aux fan kicks in.

Mine still works, but is proper noisy on the wind down. I have to remember the flick the AC off a few seconds before I turn off the car!
A new one (VAG) was abot £160 I think plus a couple of hours labour.
