A3/S3 8V MY16 Info/Rumour Thread

Got them on ....

They work very nicely and don't stick up beyond the stalks. Not everyone's cup of tea I know but I like them. For those wondering what this is about the 2016MY paddle is shorter and stubbier than the 2015MY paddle as the images show.

Glad it worked although I suspect there'll be more folk doing the opposite from you

They look much better than those big elephant ears.

Much more in keeping with the S3. Nice work.

Glad my MY16 will have smaller ones.

I also like the smaller paddles, it gives It a cleaner look with the new bigger MY2016 Rearview Mirror.

Quite a bit bigger to be fair... It was one of my fuss points coming from a vw which seems to love huge mirrors but glad they changed it, I'll see if I can put up a bigger picture (bit hard to take a picture of the mirror to be fair but try my best again) or measurements (lol) if anyone would like them

The rev counter has changed on the standard models too (previously we saw it in the RS3) therefore now the gauge shows off (engine off) and ready (auto/start stop kicked in but engine still on)

New interior mirror design, I've got the comfort pack and the switch is now under the mirror with a little green light, buttons no longer on the face of the mirror, it also seems a bit more square to me but not sure if I'm imagining this because my last test drive was back in April but one thing is for sure its a lot brighter during the day!!! so think the way the anti dazzle works has changed

On another note, I had SD Nav installed and its 3D!!

Also does anyone know what the EPC yellow light is? never seen this before on another car (books in the garage and im being lazy lol)

I have a MY16 RS3 sat on my drive and it has the big paddles, the same as my MY15 S3

Saw a white RS3 when collecting my parts and that too had the larger 2015 paddles - think they may have adopted this strategy for further differentiation and maybe a cost save on the S3.

As BH says we NEED pics congrats on the new wheels.

Are these new paddles a new SKU ? If so, that isn't cost saving.

Not sure is there anything I can check on the label on the box ? The 4H0 part number prefix suggests another vehicle line rather than S3 8V.

Talking of paddles, can you upgrade these to S2T DSG Paddle Shifters etc or? Didn't really like them when I drove on the weekend there. Few people on R forum have upgraded these, anybody on here done this?

Having had both the MY2015 and 2016 I much prefer the smaller paddles. I found I had to reach more to hit the 2015 ones. Judging by the 2013 manufacturing date stamp yes they look to be from a different model. Or they had a shed load lying around and worked out they could save £20 per unit!

The all metal face of the small ones are much more in keeping with the car. They don't seem as clumsy as the big ones either.

A few of the sales guys from work have been to Austria with Audi for the Central Launch Training for the new A4. They were briefly shown the new A5 which would suggest to me that there isn't going to be a facelift A3 for at least 12 months.

The new A5 is absolutely beautiful aswell apparently, all the photos that come up on google for the new A5 are all renderings and photoshops.
