Hi there, I've had my A5 (B8) for a while however it doesn't seem to be on the long life service interval. I've been in to the dealer a couple times for a service and both time been told that it would be changed to long life after the service was complete. My last service was in Feb and it's already flashing up again that a service is due. I do a lot of miles and don't fancy shelling out 300-350 quid every 6 mths, especially after I requested that it be on long life intervals.

I have the legit VAG cable and have used it a fair few times to diagnose mines and mates cars. Turned on alarm chirp too :D

I have seen sections within VCDS relating to service intervals etc however I'm not sure on how to work my way around this part of the program. Can anyone help me in setting my car to long life service intervals?

As the VCDS Manual says:
In many newer Audi models (2008 onward), the default "Simple Service Reset" or "Basic Service Reset" choice cannot be used. Instead, you must pick the appropriate choice for your region, for example "#2 Mileage based Service Reset (USA)".

On the latest cars using UDS/ODX diagnostic protocols for the Instrument Cluster, the SRI Reset function does not apply. Instead, SRI must be reset by saving Adaptation values directly in the Instrument Cluster. This page explains how to do this procedure in a Mk6 Golf. Please contact Ross-Tech via email if you need assistance with this function.
