Hi all

I'm sure i am not the only person who has gone to Audi to get a particular job done, and ended up with a rather large report of issues that need doing, but quite annoyed with my recent one.

I understand that Audi standards are high, and anything that needs doing whether urgent or not should be brought to my attention. Thats totally fine with me, and i would want to know.

Well after reading my Report, i thought i was going to be broke for a few months, but thats fine because safety comes first. I went down to my local Garage a few times for a second opinion, and they sent me packing everytime saying ignore anything Audi say there is nothing wrong.

Just had an MOT, and i asked them to check my so called "Perished rear Brake hoses down to the cords"

Garage reply "Absotely nothing wrong there" i was happy but rather shocked and asked what not even a little worn. No was there reply.

My report was either form the wrong car, or they were trying it on, What worries me more is if my elderly parents were to get a report like that they would just believe it.

Other bits on the report

Front discs Rotten: A little corrosion around edges
Rear discs 90% worn : at least 8 mm pad left
Cam belt due £550: I found a reciept saying it was Done 12,000m ago (in fairness i dont know how accurately they can work this out)

On a good note MOT Passed :)

Id hate to see what Audi say about mine lol

I have a cracked rear light with a bulb out, cv joints knackered rear shocks possibly all shocks need replacing, engine mount keeps showing a fault on vcds
And that's what's actually wrong with it not what Audi think is wrong with it

Blimey ok

Keep away from Audi, they might confiscate yours :sm4:

A friend went in for new pads not long after my episode, and they tried it with him saying the discs needed doing, he said no, and they wanted him to sign a waiver to only do the pads.

Haha
They can keep it for all I care I'm sick of it lol

It's looks like a shed at the minute

I always take anything any "mechanic" tells me with a pinch of salt until I can investigate myself.

First of all, brake discs dont rot, they rust!

Last time my car went to Audi, I was told by a tech that my car was mis-firing even though it wasnt - he was adamant until I told him it was the DMF causing the engine to shake.
