Had my A6 in to an Audi dealership, have been told that I need new front brake discs and pads. Been quoted €350 (about £250). Was looking up prices on-line for Mintex discs and pads...should I buy these and let my local spanner monkey install them???

Nah Mintex stuff is decent quality, also try your local TPS for parts too, they sell only genuine items, I put in new front pads from TPS for £40 and they were genuine items.

Or better still, fit them your self.

Trade parts specialist they are owned by Audi
Google your nearest depot

Have had Monroe shocks and Delphi disc brake discs and pads fitted...feels great to be honest!

Delphi aren't even the best quality.

Did 300 miles this weekend and feels fine...its all relative....I'd really think you'd have to be pushing your car to its limits to feel any difference imho!

I replaced all my brakes last year. All pagid, believe pagid is fitted from factory.

And suspension parts are lemforder I believe

Instructions I read was steady driving no harsh braking for 400 miles
After that you can use and abuse them.
