Driving home i got a message that start stop had malfunctioned and could not be used.

no engine light, just the message, and after a restart of the engine all was fine.

plugged vcds in tonight and this is the error that caused it.

anyone come across similar?

I had a fault with my start/stop giving same message and as you said turn engine off and restart and all is fine. When i took it in to the dealers the next day they found a faulty sensor to do with some carbon filter had caused the problem and replaced said sensor. So far its been fine ever since

I've had my start stop go on strike once. Said the fiction was unavailable, turned the engine off and restarted, all was fine so I left it.

its a weird one. Im not going to do anything about it unless it happens again and again. If it didnt throw a light then it cant really be an issue.

No I haven't got VCDS. I do work at Audi Harrogate though so I'll whip it in the workshop this afternoon and see what fault code its brings up.

are you a technician ?

what are you then? sales ?

Done a search and found this :)

The code P0441 means that the Evaporative control system purge flow is incorrect. First, let's quickly review what the Evaporative control system is. The Evaporative control system (EVAP) prevents gasoline vapors from the fuel tank from escaping into the atmosphere. The Evaporative control system catches and stores gasoline vapors in a small box installed near the fuel tank called charcoal canister. When you drive and certain conditions (speed, engine temperature, etc.) are met, fuel vapors are gradually purged from the charcoal canister and burned inside your engine. The code P0441 means that the purge flow is lower or higher than it should be in these conditions. The purge flow is controlled by the purge valve (purge solenoid).

Cheers, that sets my mind at rest, could just be a one off, but at least its not engine related.

Did a scan of my car at the weekend and had this too, just cleared it. Don't think it's anything to worry about unless it's coming up all the time

Just had mine in, no fault codes logged other than the exhaust valves

@JordanQuattro Do you plan on getting your car serviced at harrogate? Just wondering if you will leave the DTUK box on and if they will " overlook it "

If they are lenient towards it, i may start using them

The last two weeks i´m having an start/stop malfunction constantly. Sometimes it repairs itself when shutting off the car and start it again.
But yestreday my car shut off when driving, then i stop and start it and the check engine sign appears in the dashboard. When i arrive at home I disconnect the DTUK FSR and start it again but the sign stills there.
Today i read the ECU with VCDs and there was a failure in a sensor that i dont remember exactly, but reads the atmospheric altitude over sea level to manage the fuel /air mass mix (barometic or something like that).
I clean the sign and it didnt appear at least in the few miles driven in the morning. Did someone knows which sensor it is about?
Maybe it can be something with the FSR?

I used to get this fault and ECU fault light up every 6 months or so when I had my TT. Yeah reset the fault and it goes away for another 6 months.

I gather it senses a difference in pressure between the fuel tank and charcoal canister. In another forum, it seems there is a gauze filter in the hose that can get clogged and cleaning it will fix it. Stealers will rather you replace the evap control system for $$$
