Been looking on the forum and can't see this.
I recall my sportback 8p was actually made in Belgium.....so was wondering where the 8v S3 sportbacks are made ...

Hatchbacks and Sportbacks are assembled in Ingolstadt, Germany.

On the same line as the A3 ;)

Great thanks. Back in 2010 they apparently made the sportbacks in Belgium and the three door in Germany.
I wonder if I can offer to pay in Drachma ......
Thks again

Saloons/sedans are made in Hungary, 3 door and sportback in Ingolstadt Germany. No idea about ragtop.

Are you sure about that? I reckon all saloons are made in Gyor, Hungary. (Together with the TT's and almost all of the engines)

That's what my dealer told me. Hard to call them a bunch of liars hehe.

When Audi first took over the plant in Brussels they built some A3 Sportbacks, but that was only until the A1 was released. Now all A1s are built at the Brussels plant and all A3/S3 3-door and Sportbacks are built in Ingolstadt in Germany. The A3/S3 Saloon and Cabriolet are built in Gyor in Hungary. The TT bodies are made at Ingolstadt and then taken by train to Gyor for final assembly but the A3 Saloon and Cabriolet are fully built in Gyor..

Nearly all the engines - 1,973,734 of them, for the whole of the VAG group are built in an Audi engine plant also in Gyor

I thought the new Audi engines are supposed to be a bit more frugal? I don't want a Hungary one.

I'm outraged, and I'm going to cancel my order. First minute changes to the flappy paddles and now this. Where will it end!!!!!!!!

Thks , that is interesting. I am wondering if I can elect to pay them in Euro

It might not be that they lied. But
I believe that many customers
know more about Audi than some
of these dealers.

No as you are buying the car through Audi UK and not from Audi AG!! I very much doubt if any dealers will accept Euro's, which is a shame when you see how the pound is doing against the Euro! Perhaps you should pop over to Germany and buy one through a German dealer...

You can pay in euros at Watford Audi. But that might only be an option for people buying to export.

A good clip of the saloons being made. Those robots are very impressive, but good to see that human involvement is still very prevalent as well. Love the way they put the seats in!

Great video.
Was only joking about the Euro.
But makes you think...
We are in effect paying more now un euro terms. You would think they would there game and build more yk specs quicker now and stuff the home market....

I've had several factory tours around Ingolstadt over the years and it's amazing to watch the actual final produce of the cars and also how much it has changed over the years. More use is now made of handling equipment by the workers installing things like the seats and nothing over a certain weight ever has to be manually lifted.
