Beeping noise from inside boot!!!

tonight,when leaving work,I heard a beeping noise from inside the boot. Sounded like it came from the area around the passenger rear light area. I've owned the car for 2mths now and never heard it before. It sounded almost like the noise parking sensors would make,it only beeped 4x times when I turned the key and that was it! It's an 02 S3 if that makes any difference. Any ideas what it would be???
 
Right ok thanks..... Where are they??? The one in the key?
 
Excellent,thanks! Don't suppose u have a link to the batteries I need? eBay link or something like that? I've no idea about fiddly electrical stuff like this! So I've already got a guy in mind who I'm going to get to do it! He's a genius at fiddly elec stuff like this!
 
Yeah I did mate,but the specs of them batteries are completely baffling to me! I'll show it to my mate tomorrow and he will know about them and perhaps he will have some,he has all sorts of stuff like that, if not maybe he can source them for me. Thanks for your help anyway. To be honest I didn't expect it to be anything like this,thought it may have just been something simple like the tailgate wasn't closed properly!but never mind,I'm learning about these cars hidden gems everyday!
