Hi newbie looking for some advice , met a few guys over at gti international the weekend .
Decided I would jump on the forum
I'm looking at getting my car mapped is there anywhere anyone recommends in the birmingham / worcestershire area thanks in advance

1st mod is a 100 mm hex drive key and remanufactured balancer shaft for the oil pump .

Welcome to Audi-sport.net , as above best to make sure the engine is 100% fit before it's mapped.
When it comes to mapping If you don't want to travel too far then Will at P-Torque in Wombourne is very good. Never used him myself but heard only good things. If you want to travel a little further Rick at Unicorn motor developments in Stockport is very good, I went there to get my car mapped. I live near Cannock.
Karl.

Thanks for the replys guys
I've had a health check done on the car at audi near me the week I picked it up, but I'm going to have everything checked again just befor I finalise on a place to get the map done

and thanks mate I will have a look at both places you've said I don't mind traveling if they're decent with a good reputation

Well Rick mapped my 3.0 TDI A4 and I won the trophy for the fastest diesel at GTI inters on Saturday. 13.28 105 MPH So he knows what he's doing.

Just had a look where it is not to bad at all and if it was fastest diesel kind of sells it for me , was you at inters sunday aswell ?

Hi thats gazwould he loves everything oil pump balancer shaft related!

Have to say he is right even if you are sceptical about it, if it's done you can forget about it and enjoy the car

I am slightly sceptical as not 100% on the cars history picked it up at a discounted traders price so doing bit by bit , I will look into this balancing shaft what's the average price id be looking at to do this
And really appreciate all the replies

No only went on Saturday, was going to camp Saturday night but you couldn't do that on the day unfortunately.

Around £550 for a modified shaft and uprated hex key fitted

I have just returned from a round trip from Elgin in the Scottish highlands where I stopped in at M B Services and got my Hex Key and Balance Shaft done for £560 then went to Rick at Unicorn for an EGR and DPF delete along with a map for £600 (the missus will kill me if she see's the credit card bill), the shaft was worn so that was justified, the DPF was pretty blocked but had no prob's with it YET so that was justified and the EGR although showing no fault's was suspect for a crap idle when cold and is no longer present again justified and I treated myself to a re-map. All I can say is get all the map done by Rick and you wont be disappointed, what a difference the car just wants to pull all the time now, when I put my foot down for the first time I had to fish out a cuople of mobile phones and a wallet from the drivers footwell as they flew backwards off my wee magic little sticky pad thing on the dashboard. 1000 mile round trip and money well spent in my book and if I havent mentioned it I have convinced myself 3/4 of the work was justified and necessary preventative maintenance, well thats what her indoors will be told when the inevitable happen's, wish me luck guy's. :gun2: :sos:

No suprises about Ricks ability to get the most out of a car with a map, petrol or diesel it doesn't matter :) .
