I have had some issues with the BT in me 2007 A6.
I went to one of the lads off here last nite and he helped me turn the hidden menu on and put some code in to activate the BT using VCDS, however after driving off five mins later the BT wasn't working again so popped back and he checked it and the code had been removed from the where it was.! He re-entered the code saved it and turn the car on and off a few times and then checked it again this time it had stayed in and no faults where present. Driving home and the hands free BT and phone book all worked fine and as they should I made several phone calls to check it on the 20min trip home. When I got home I turned the car off and on again several times and each time the phone connected back up.

However I have gone out in the car again today and the BT won't work.!! Looked at the hidden mmi menu and it says not activated yet.? Anybody else had this or know how to get it to stay on permanently..??

I have discussed this with Chris the lad that did the VCDS mods and he thinks upgrading the mmi software maybe the answer I'm running 4220 and the later updates apparently have some BT bug fixes.! Going to go down this route and see if this solves the problem. Fingers crossed.!

right I may be a little late for this but my android phone lost its BT connection when the screen on my phone went to sleep (black) I downloaded an app called screen timeout so the screen stays awake, since this my phone had no problems at all staying connected to the BT in the car

It's not the phone losing the connection the BT is actually not staying in the coding on the VCDS when we put it in it stays for sometime but then when I can't connect to BT and we go back into the VCDS the coding has reverted back to being off again. Could be a faulty BT unit this is common but could be just a software update.!! Still not got round to solving it yet bigger problems at the min.

I'm a novice mate but off the top of my head he changed one of the channels to enable the BT to work.!

Think it was channel 7 maybe. Before he did it the BT never worked he enabled it then afterwards it worked perfect for sometime but lasted about 5-10 mins the second time he did it, it lasted till the next day.
When u go back into the VCDS the numbers in that channel have reverted back again.!!
Hope I'm explaining so as you can make sense from my limited knowledge.?

Would need to know the exact module and what is being changed. I've retrofitted dozens of MMI BT modules and never had or seen this problem before.
