got an issue with my wife's 2.0 TFSI cabriolet that is annoying. When you depress the clutch while driving, the RPM will hang for 1-2 seconds before dropping. It has done this since we brought it and although it does not bother my wife, I find it really annoying.
Is this normal? My A3 1.4 saloon is instant response.

My guess is that the clutch switch has failed. A diagnostic will show what's wrong.

I have this problem also on an A3 2.0 FSI and its a real pain especaially when speeding up quickly...I find, i dont know about yourself, that when pushing the car harder the revs actually increase by around about 150-200rpm and then fall, even with my foot completely off the accelerator. This then means the car is lurching on every gear change which doesnt look good when you have friends or family in the car! really annoying little thing!

Worth noting as well, if it is the clutch switch and you have cruise control, be careful! Normally the cruise control get knocked off When you press the clutch, but it wont do that if it's faulty...
