My A3 is missing its front anti roll bar, its on coil over's so I'm guessing it rubbed and so the po just ditched it.

What are my best options? I've looked at aftermarket and the only quattro ones I can see are front and rear kits for £350 which is more than I'm willing to spend. Is the only other option finding a stock one or is there a cheap upgrade available from another vehicle?

Thanks
Adam

I dont think it should have rubbed on a Quattro, the ARBs are set up a bit different on quattro cars, whoever owned the car before you may have been a idiot and binned it off anyways though.

r32 ones work well but i think you'll want the full set, if you stiffen the front up too much it will make things twitchy at the rear. @Prawn is the man who has done the most suspension testing by far on here.

Thanks lavis. I've done a bit more research and it seems the quattro ones go under the shaft and attach to the strut. Problem is my coilovers don't have a mounting point. Is there a way around this other than changing the coil overs? Can I fabricate a custom drop link to attach it to the wishbone like the fwd ones?

Fitting a front anti roll bar will NOT make the rear twitchy !!!!
For twitchy rear end soften front and firm up rear ( could be why the front is removed) ??

It will have been removed to lower the car as low as poss... I would imagine the original owner read it on the internet so thought it would be a good idea... lets face it... when the car is that low that you need to remove an antiroll bar handling is not top of the list of priorities :)

Surely if he had a nice thick r32 one on the front and a standard TQS one on the rear (which are crazy soft) it would still handle like trash reguardless. I've got a stock bar on the front and r32 on the rear and it made the car feel lovely and planted

Should a TT arb from a mk1 quattro fit? Also what are peoples thoughts on fitting any kind of arb to a quattro without a mount on the strut?

Standard rear and thicker front will promote MORE understeer
