What have you done to your A4 b6 today?

Fitted my new 19s
Not sure if I like them or not. We'll have to see if they grow on me.

Scanned it, no fault codes!!

When was the last time you had the ac working mate?
If it's been empty for a long time the pump might be knackered from running dry.

Also you haven't changed your ac control panel recently have you, as they have to be coded to your vin to get the ac to work.

I changed my panel recently as the buttons were worn, everything worked as it should, just threw up a fault code about wrong vin for unit, so just coded it out in vcds

Yeh I swopped it when I did me double din ages ago, never had the ac working since I owned it.

Today I managed to change the front discs and pads for Pagid Discs and pads. Attempted the job myself. Got the slider pins out, but the caliper bolts wouldn't come out. Borrowered neighbours breaker bar and it undid nicely. This point I thought I'm sailing, discs should be easy couple of hits and it should come off. Did it hell hammering away, penetration spray nothing. Close to calling it a day, when I went in the shed to get a plastic mallet. Then gave the mofo disc good full wack it and a few cuss words and result. We have movement.

Tired now but very satisfying!

Tomorrow attempting passenger side window regulator repair!!!

Happy Wrenching!!!

Might be worth getting it coded to your car mate as I've seen it causing the ac not to work before.
I can do it for you, and try running it through vcds, I'll give you a shout in a bit mate as I'm just about to go in for physio.

Had my mot today.....and she passed with no advisories happy days!
Not bad going for a car with 170k under her belt!

Finished refurbing wheels and fitting new interior all done car is pretty much finished.......at last:)

Was that legitimate though? ;-)
When I bought my car, it 'sailed through with no advisories', despite both front and rear screen washers being completely blocked, all wipers perished beyond use, one wheel bearing gone, both headlight washers blocked and broken, the headlight levelling system broken (and fuse removed!) and neither fog light working, the spare tyre down to the cords AND flat.
And the garage sounded shocked when I accused them of giving me a dodgy mot!

Windows regulator replacement was fairly smooth sailing, however when it came to the two torx screws holding the regulator in, rounded off!!!!, tried drilling out no good. Called the AA, guy hammered in a bigger torx twisted it and it undid. on the whole apart from this issue quite simple.

a good guide is here which I followed

So all in all fitted Pagid discs and Pads and a window regulator, all for £160 not pad going!

You mean the AA will attend DIY disasters???

Told them on the phone than the car is unsecure parked on street, I said that windows went down wouldn't come back up, went to investigate it and bought the part in question. The fact I said the car was unsecure, probably the only reason they attended!!!!! Well at least the got me out of a pickle! :)

That garage sounds like a bunch of cowboys lol .I trust my local mot station to honest mate, its not worth them loosing there business turning a blind eye also risking peoples safety. I wouldn't want to drive a car that wasn't 100% .
Also lucky for me the last owner kept her in top working order (shed loads of money spent on her)

Replaced both engine mounts and snub mount on my 3.0 6 speed avant today. Took me 3 hrs start to finish.
Engine much smoother and has immediate response on throttle also engine seems quieter ?!?
Quite an easy DIY job for anyone considering it

Just finished replacing the driver's window regulator - 10 points for spotting the problem...

£18 eBay special in there now so we'll see how that lasts - watch this space!

Hope you have better luck than I did, I replaced 2 twenty quid eBay ones in 8 months! In the end I payed the 100 quid for a genuine one.

Fingers crossed. Read your post before ordering but thought I'd give it a punt anyway - you never know eh?

Calliper's repainted Sunburst yellow pearlescent! I think they look mint!

Today I got my 35mm H&R lowerings spring fitted and also the B5 perches. As my car is a S-Line I didn't expect it to drop so much, but jeez the drop is way more than I expected.

I had to get my alignment done after as also I had my track rod ends done most places couldn't get the wheel hangers over the wheel due to low arch gap had to find a place which uses the hunters tracking machine. I am pleased with it I guess it going to drop lower as it beds in but I think the wheels need spacing as it got a bit of tuck showing now.

Not today, but yesterday I fixed the seized intake flap on my S4

Have had a weird, tap tap noise when turning, coming from osf, thought it was the usual caliper retaining spring/clip, turned out to be 4 out of 5 wheel bolts loose, STB, I'm glad I checked it, did the clip/spring whilst i was there.

That's not good, has the wheel been off recently?

(PS I still haven't found my cable)

Most of my milltek cat back exhaust fitted today just the tips left to do, but for some reason there's a 5 week wait for them!?

I split my new spare wheel down ready to refurb it at 7:30 this morning. I woke up before my alarm and thought I would put the time to good use.

I also stripped the boot lining off to adjust the lock mechanism in hope it will open on a hot day instead of just slightly popping the boot open, if not I'll pick a new one up this week and fit it next weekend.

I'm hoping I can get the S4 brakes on all four corners and flush the system tomorrow if the rain holds off for me.
