Forgotten lease order

I placed my lease order via a broker (fleetprices.co.uk) in March, advising that I needed delivery in the last week of August - giving them just over 5 months.

Only recently did I manage to get the Audi order number - and after putting into the tracker discovered it 'could not be found'.

A call to Audi customer services (after calling my lease broker a few times) and I discovered it hadn't yet been 'accepted into the system'. So I don't even have a build week, let alone one that will get it here in 8 weeks.

The dealer, who my broker insists is to blame for not getting the order placed back in March, is North Wales Audi.

The broker has been onto them and they are going to try to push it into the system and flag it as needed asap. I wont hold my breath!

Has anyone had experience of 'forgotten' orders? How quick did it then arrive?

For those ordering now, what build weeks are being advised?

The problem I have is this is a lease - to replace my current lease which goes back on 3rd September and can't be extended. So after that, I don't have a car!

I really don't want to cancel altogether and have to go out and buy one (I haven't owned a car in 10 years and have zero desire to start again now). There's almost zero chance of the broker finding a different dealer with an order that can be allocated to me as a lease. And even then the chance of the spec matching is slim.

What have folk with delayed orders managed to get out of their dealer? I can wait until it's built if they can supply a suitable surrogate. I wouldn't even expect it as a courtesy - happy to pay what I was expecting to pay for the S3.

What do folk think my chances are?

Here is a harsh lesson, always order through a dealer!!!!!

I think, because you are using a broker, you'll get nothing out of it at all I'm afraid.
The broker will be protected by small print in your contract and you have no contract with Audi.

Perhaps have a chat with your friendly Audi dealer and come to an arrangement with them. Maybe if you order one direct, they can lend you a car, and as such telling the broker where to go.

I currently have a audi a3 on lease and ordered my s3 in april. My a3 was to go back in may but i asked can you extend for 1 month and they said thats fine no questions asked. Because of the delay in my s3 i was able to extend it until end of july but i bekieve they extended it further just because im ordering another audi.

When i ordered the s3 i kept on top of them regarding build week and order number because i was worried of something like this happening to me. Maybe try speak to a manger and express how upset you are and what problems they have caused. Worth a shot.

Another expensive option would be to rent a car for time you give your current car back and your new one arrives.

I'm same as furkan. Ordered my S3 in March, my current A3 was meant to be returned end of May, but S3 has been delayed (it actually comes tomorrow!!! :yahoo:) so have been able to keep my A3 till it arrives without any problem. When told it sounded like a normal thing to extend the current lease for a month or so, even out of courtesy if your ordering again through the same leasing company/Broker?

I would go back to your broker and ask him again to extend the current one or threaten to cancel the order altogether and go with another leasing company.

Different lease company sadly. Current one is VW (direct from VW) and there's no chance of extending.

If I cancel then I'd be worse off - a new lease company would be unable to get ahead of whatever delivery schedule this one gets allocated (next week hopefully).

Now looking at RS3 on ukcarbroker - probs be similar delivery
