I'm in the process of replacing my exhaust with a Milltek system and was wondering if anyone has fitted the Hi flow sports cat to a 2.0 TFSI that doesnt have a stage 2 remap?

You'll be ready for a stage 2 then when you exhaust and cat is done. Is there a question about it?

Im pretty sure that for a stage 2 I would also have to fit a high flow fuel pump and do some changes to the cars induction. I don't really want a stage 2 remap.
I just want to know if anyone has fitted a high flow cat without a stage 2 (Milltek say the car should have a stage 2) and had issues or will the car run fine

I'm not upto spec on these remap things but based all this ecu technology is that it makes the most of your engine setup at the time you get it mapped, if you don want a stage two why cant you just get it mapped to stage one then , sureley the exhaust will be setup fairly well from that without going to the next mapping level, just a thought .

With those mods you should notice it will rev freer, won't do it any harm. Seems odd that you won't go all the way and have a remap.

ive tried to have the car mapped a couple of times but unfortunately the ecu seems to be locked, it looks like it has been mapped before then had it removed (most likely by Revo) this unfortunately means that it's not as simple as it should be to map the car. I will get a stage 1 map but I will more than likely have to have it bench mapped.
The only reason I'm changing the exhaust and cat is because mines has seen better days and the Milltek system is considerably cheaper that a genuine system.

You need to find out who last mapped the car, they should have the means to unlock it but I realise that's not always possible, some detective work required. The tuners I have used in the past always keep a back up file should I need to have the map reverted to original.

I fitted my milltek exhaust and high flow cat 1 month before having my stage 2 remap done. It made my engine behave differently at low revs, nearly stalling when pulling off from standing still.

The remap cured it.

I've now had the Exhaust and sports cat fitted, so far there have been no issues to report

Very nice, you just have to have a remap now. Did you ever find out who mapped in the past?

How you finding the drive-ability of the car following the turbo back exhaust system coupled with the original stage 1? do you have the MIL light on or did they put in a spacer on the o2 sensor?

I am thinking of going down the same route as yours but with a custom exhaust rather then Miltek. I have an AMD stage 1 and happy with the map.

Thanks

Still not got to the bottom of that, I do have a few options although I'm just not in any hurry at the moment

I'd say the car is now driving better than it ever has done before, it's really smooth at idle and feels mich les restricted when going through the revs. I don't know if the garage used any spacers on the o2 sensor but I don't have any warning lights on at all.
