i've just got my 2007 A4. but i really do need help i got it ith the concert radio

and i'm wondering if it worth changing into nav+ or not. as i have to make alot of modifications to add it.

i got it with the bi-xenon
Bluetooth
Parking sensors
sunroof
cd changer
Ipod plug & interface

so please anyone tell me whether to change into nav+ or not

When you say nav+ I assume you mean the Satellite Navigation option with MP3, etc?

I know from bitter experience that it is impossible to change the Concert to a Symphony or Nav system. I was quoted more than £2,000 to do this - the dealer recommended that I went and bought an aftermarket system.

According to two dealers (I got a second opinion!) the cars are built to order, and the wiring is bespoke.

I can say with absolute certainty that it IS possible to change from a Concert to an RNS-E.

See here http://www.navplus.us for details how many people have done it!!!

It's harder to change from a Concert to an RNS-E than it is to change from a Symphony to an RNS-E, because you have to change the frame from single DIN to double DIN and either replace (very expensive) or modify (trim with a Dremel) the climate control panel. Some who have done the Concert to RNS-E upgrade many times can do it in 4-5 hours (the Symphony to RNS-E upgrade takes less than an hour).

I can do a concert to RNS-E upgrade in under 1.5 hours now. It should be an olympic sport. I think I would get gold....

Cool.
Now I know why Dealer quoted £2,000.

Thinking about this, I am definitely interested if someone can either:
1. Help me change Concert to Symphony - maybe a point-by-point instruction?
2. Tell me where/who can do this, and how much.

Original poster Maraby asked if it's worth changing. Just what would this cost? Or is it, like the dealers tell me, so expensive as to be not worth it. I guess if others are doing this with the frequency suggested, it can't be so expensive after all.

I don't need the sat nav bit, but I would like to improve the sound quality (I already have Bose). I can get a very nice Alpine system (self) installed for about £400 utilising the Bose and keeping my Nokia bluetooth with mute.

My supplying dealer was Lancaster Audi in Manchester, S8Craig. Do you know them? To be honest, their customer service stinks, which is why I also went through the process with another dealer (and got the same answer).

I'm a little worried about the reference to Dremel, though...

You can't have CD changer and Ipod interface together yet, not until the new Dension units are available.

But I can do the following....

Concert II to DVD navigation £1300
Bluetooth £400
