Weird one today. Coming back from Cornwall and car insists its in the centre of Ingolstadt and 699 miles from home! It even gave traffic info for Germany as well.

Tried various MMI restarts on route back but it did not change.

Have just got back so will see if a little break does it any good or if it has a more serious fault.

It's a hint. I'm sure if you take it there it will be happy and start performing as it should.

Mine's done that once briefly. Not done it since though

I had that last Friday in Nottingham. Came back to the car after a coffee stop the MMI screen popped up and hung on 11% for a while and then told me I was in Inglostadt I tried all sorts MMI restarts etc but nothing worked. Eventually after an hour of driving I turned it back on it started working correctly.

Car is definately home sick and pining to go back home. You should arrange a trip and take it back :) .
It's obvious in this country that there is an issue but imagine if you were in Germany near Ingolstadt, that would be confusing,

Thanks everyone for your comments.

I restarted it after an hour and normal service has been restored.

I've had issues in the past on my old A4 with the GPS aerial getting mucky (in thick fog/ice) and the car thinking it was 100yds away (offroad) from where it actually was but never a different country. I can only think that there is a software engineer somewhere with a sense of humour...

Only thing I can think of what might have caused it was it got very hot in the heatwave where I left it in the car park all week. At least I now know how to do an MMI Restart (Menu / big wheel / top right soft function) - just a shame it didn't fix it.

Getting in my car on the delivery day I was greeted with exactly the same when I turned the Sat Nav on! Took them a couple minutes playing with the MMI and all was good, hasn't occurred since.

Mine's just done this to me today. Knew there'd be a thread on here already for it. It hadn't popped back to normal during the journey, so hoping it is tomorrow as I need it to get somewhere I'm not familiar with.

Seems to be one of those that disappears just as quickly as it appears................not had it personally though!

I assume from yer avatar and nic that you're a fellow guitar player and Van Halen worshipper? ;)

Good place for guitar type stuff. Though very forgiving forum , and mods allow a certain amount of freedom not usually allowed.
As an Audi driver are you a PRS man like me ?

Got back in the car to drive home and all was back to normal fortunately.

Good guess on the music front on both counts!
