avant 1.9 tdi best gearbox

I'm looking at getting a b6 avant 1.9 tdi 130bhp and have seen both 5 and 6 speed boxes avaliable. Is there any pro and cons for either?
 
The 6 speed has a bigger cluch plate and as such can take more torque if you are planning on upping the power.

Thanks for the reply. Looking at a 53 plate 6 speeder over due a cambelt service for £1800. Plus I need to sort the egr out as it chucking oil out
 
How many miles has is done? That seems like very strong money.
 
138k but I'm in Cornwall where everything is ****** expensive
 
I think he means £1800 for the car, or at least I hope he does ha ha.

Where in Cornwall are you mate, as if your anywhere near Bude/Crackington I can put you on to a good garage that doesn't charge the earth.
 
Yeah it's 1800 for the car not the work lol. 8m in falmouth
 
5 speed is regarded as the stronger box but runs the smaller clutch /flywheel set up
