Guys, I just took out my charge tube and just showing you how dirty it was when I was using the **** after market so called more flow intake. I touched with my hands and it felt like earth-dirts and oil. What do you think it was?
Charge tube Before
Charge tube after cleaned

Only had this on for 3 months.

I have attached two pictures before and after.

Luckly I am back with OEM filters either s2000 or Audi oem.

So, the verdict is let your car breath a cleaner air for better longivity. You can be the judge...or cheeck your charge tube NOW....

Can some one tell me what ID size is the the tube above???Thanks 54mm or 58??

could you be more specific thanks

The PCV breather that recirculates vapors and gasses (and ultimately carbon deposits i'd imagine!) from the crank case and cam cover straight into the TIP without passing through the filter...

I think this is a relevant point to another discussion currently going on about vent to air vs recirculating PCV system...

Just got it replaced 2 weeks ago. Np.

By the sounds of things you've just replaced the OE pipework?

The other discussion is about replacing all that with a catch can set up and whether it's best to then have that venting to air or recirculating back into the TIP... Which is why I think this topic is relevant to that conversation

It was leaking before when i got the car, i repalced it with silicon host and copper joints. Never need to be replaced again with these parts they never crack-brass. haaaa no oil catch can for me. Two things people invented for money making-clever, is oil catch can and turbo timer.....do you think audi had one already build in/?/or not. Obviously car still running good...

Without a catch can you are still circulating unfiltered vapour/gas (and **** knows what else)... Audi also put in N249, SAI and combi valve. . . But we all know they only cause problems!

And what you've basically just told me is that everyone who has a catch can has wasted their money and your idea is much better? . . . .

I mean touchwood, my car runs fine not even burn oil after 120000km, may be I use 10-40W full syn oil all the time. Oil catch can to catch oil and you have to empty it...problem 1) I have all n249.n75 installed just like before, no smell and polution free. My idea was replacing stock :plastic parts" with silicon tube and brass joints is more durable. Turbo timer is an excessive item. Do Audi use them?correct me if I am wrong.....

Yes you have it as oe but you are still venting vapours into the pipework causing you to have this dirty pipe. The oil you've cleaned out cannot be from any air filter on the planet it's from crankcase ventilation. It was cleaner before because the splits in the pipes caused it to breathe to atmosphere
Audi don't fit catch cans because when they sell the car it's not done 170k

Ok oK, since everyone is so keen about oilcatch can, I am going to make a stock tube size(3/4 inch) using clear compressor seperator(not I dnt want spend the money" I prefrer a clear container. To be honest I opened charge tube few times when I brought this car the tube was clear, only happened after the aftermarket intake..any way let me do the EXPERINMENT. Watch this link
