Help needed please after searching for an answer I'm all confused

I've just fitted a rns-e 8P0 035 192L in to my a3 8p with Bose already installed.
Once I connect the red plug to the unit I get very bad interference and hissing noises. With a pop and bang if
I turn the ignition on or off.

Could this mean I need the unit coded or are the wires in the plug in the wrong position?

Any help would be much appreciated

Humpers, did you ever get to the bottom of this? I'm experiencing something very similar when trying to connect a Dension iPod kit to my RNSE

I ordered a new connection lead with all wires in the correct position. Which sorted the problem. So at a guess you may have a wire in the wrong plug with your iPod kit
