Currently have a catch can fitted and the PCV system is venting to atmosphere. I've read a few posts lately that suggest it may be better to have it recirculating, something to do with pressure etc.

What's people's thoughts?

vent to air, always... There's a reason why half the over sized TIPs don't come with the take for the PCV valve

How do you vent to atmos i would like to know my self been looking at catch cans but people prefer vented to atmos is ther a link of any sort with a guide venting to air

Fair dos. I always thought that as it stops oily air getting sucked back into the systems but like i said read a few posts on FB about recir back into the system.

So everyone agree vent to atmosphere before I start redoing all the silicone hoses for fresh?

Hard to say. Depends how and where it'll be used.

Inside to run via a catch can vented to atmosph with a long hose under the car, but Bill noticed some oil splatter on his windscreen after owing me on track.

I switched to a plumbed in system back to the intake, and annoyingly it now STINKS after a thrashing, and I've had one or two issues with my setup as the dv return ive tee-d into is too close to my maf.

I'm looking to change back to a VTA system with a can with a filter on top, but I'm expecting to still have the smell issue as it'll be able to vent fumes under the bonnet.

Well currently Nick it is running a catch can and is vented to the rear of the car with a filter on the end.

I've heard that the vacuum in the intake is good to help suck air out of the breather ports, but a lot of people vent to atmos with no issues (aside from oily smell).

That was along the lines what I read jenno.

I'm going to be venting to atmos and I'll probably have two breather pods on my catch can just to ensure air can escape easily and not blow a seal
