Can it be done ? Although I could only find 235/45r18 Michelin supersports ? Do they cause any rubbing problems ??

I think it's going to be a bit wide for the standard rims.

I have 245 x 40 Supersports on mine, but with 18x 9" rims, and then you do get problems with rubbing, especially at the front, and the solution we took was adjustable topmounts to clear that.

Yeah I thought u would looks like I'll be sticking with 225 for now then

235 is easy on aftermarket 8J wheels, on the OEM 7.5J wheels you're pushing it.

Depends on the manufacturer of the tyre though as well...My Vred Ultrac Vorti are 225 but they over hang so much even on my 8J wheels they are easily the same width or wider than some manufacturer's 235 tyres.

I'm looking at getting a second set of wheels prob team dynamics just a straight swap

Just be careful about the offsets.

I know nothing about the values but it is important with rims that wide.

I'm just looking on that fr-tuning and can get a set of pro race's for like 600 notes ,there in the s3 section so assume they would fit? Wonder if running a set of slicks the old bill would let you off on a baking hot day? Lol

The only thing I can say on that is if the plod caught you on slicks,it would not be pretty.

Toyo R888s or the successor R888R tyres would give you more than enough trackday grip and still be road -legal.

Yeah be interesting I'd get captain rule book aswell lol yeah I was just looking at them on demon tweekes 200 a corner though ,

The R888s were very good summer tyres, and surprisingly good even in the wet,and the R888R is supposed to be better at least in dry conditions.

It's not out in the right size for me yet....

Interesting is the right word.

Very good grip even on cold or icy surfaces until the second you overstep the mark.....

I know that feeling from my 2 wheel track days found these cheap Chinese slicks they were great but went from awesome grip to might aswell not have a tyre in about 1 corner so it was cat and mouse one corner to many and it was hello tarmac

FR Tuning, as in Bradford? If so you should deffo consider LK Performance in Cleckheaton (BD19).

The Pro Race 1.2 in the A3 section will be 18x8J and ET45 more than likely...although you can get them in custom offsets if required.

I have been tempted to buy a set 18x8J with ET50 and use 235/40/18 tyres but never done it.

I have 235/40/18 on my S3 rims. Fit good, handle well, don't rub .
38psi works for for me on them.
Had same size on other vehicles with same size rims. The Michelins are a good fit. I use Ps3's though as I like the turn in they give.
