So, about a year ago I decided stage 2 Revo wasnt enough, I had been bitten by the power bug.
Over the year I bought

Pro4 Manifold
IE Rifle drilled rods with bearings
Devils Own Water Meth
Upgraded the intercooler I had to a wellycooler with 76mm piping
BBT K418T 15psi actuator
Full 3" turbo back exhaust decat
600CC Bosch injectors
OEM Timing belt kit, head bolts, head gasket etc etc etc
CG Motorsports stage 3 clutch
Insulating intake manifold gasket
New OEM N75 and MAF

They were all fitted the start of last month (except the injectors which will be fitted on the day) and ive been through 1000 miles of run in period.
Saturday is my final oil change back to 5W40 Quantum platinum oil, and a final check over the car.
Its booked into Bills on the 20th, driving down on the Sunday night from Newcastle.

Ive got a week to go (ish), and im getting the fear. Have I missed anything?
I cant wait to get down there and let Bill work his magic, I just want to present a car to him that is 100% sorted.

Thanks in advance

Scotty

The fact it's still running and ready for fresh synthetic oil tells me you did a good job and I'm sure everything will be fine especially in bills hands.

Just double check pipes and clips etc, replace anything that looks at all tired.

Yeah Daz I think we have the same set ups from what ive read on threads we have commented on.

Cheers Superkarl, yeah my mate who built it is a senior tech where I work (Volkswagen) so I knew it would go ok, scary stripping an engine that was perfectly fine though! ha ha
Yep I've replaced every single jubilee clip with JCS hi- grips, so I'm fairly confident that there are no leaks. I presume he will smoke test it to triple check?

I just hope it gets the 330 bhp I know the K418T is good for, if it does anything else is a bonus and I will be the most happy person on Earth!

what dv should i be using is all i wanna know
scott what ratio of wmi you using?

I took Bills advise, sold my old forge 007p and I run a standard DV, meant to be the best at holding pressure when Bill did some bubble tests.

WMI wise, Quantum screenwash lol I think its 50/50

Stock OE valve is fine, OR a 007 with the new style O-ring piston.

You guys seem to have pretty similar setups! I wonder who will win

Ha ha, as long as Im driving back up the M1 to Newcastle with over 300 bhp il be a happy man.
I really dont know what BHP to be expecting, I know the K418T is good for 330 dependant on supporting mods and engine health etc.
We shall have to see !

it's good for considerably more than that should all things fall into place 'just so', but I think your sensible aim of 330 is far better than all the hopefuls who expect 360 and end up disappointed at 330-340, when infact they've done well!

Whatever the headline figures, you will enjoy it. a LOT

Yeah Prawn ite beyond me why people aim for silly figures when its well documented what the set up is actually capeable of!
Im also looking forward to the torque, currently in the region of 265-270 lbft every dyno ive ever had, and from what I read my set up should give me 300+ lb ft to play with :)

well good luck bud
im just hoping for it to be mappable lol

I'm looking foward for going stage 2 on my k03s with bill, 230 wont be a massive jump from 213 but should imagine i'll have plenty of extra torque to play with :D

book it up then boyo!!!;)

I remember bill saying to me to change my 15 psi actuator for a 12 psi one, iirc something to do with controlling boost,

Good luck with the mapping bill is a top bloke and worked wonders with mine and we didn't get off to a great start with mine lol

Am I right in reading you can't map an agu...?

Would £500 change your mind... ok £600 then :tearsofjoy:

It not a question of £ but one of time.
They take longer to do for the kind of requests I get bombarded with.. They are not a very flexible ecu, totally reliant on maf and unlike me7.5 ecu's many of the parameters you would want to use to trim in fueling, boost control etc simply dont exist, and much is driven by the hardware itself.

One day I may have the opportunity to look into them more, but their time consuming nature will be reflected in the costs.

I dont see that day being any time soon either.
never say never, but currently no.

So! Last April was a dissappointment. 308 bhp and 285 lb ft. Something was wrong. Engine wouldnt accept timing and was getting too hot.
Compression tested the engine when I got back, 150.130.130.130 accross the board. Too low.
Not long after the engine really started burning coolant.

Took the head off and found it was cracked, and the pistons were CAKED in burnt oil indicating the stem seals had gone as I suspected.
Bingo. Loss of power explained.

So its now had:

AMK head removed and refurbished BAM head, valves relapped and stem seals replaced. Supertech exhaust valves fitted.
82 Degreee thermostat
2nd Meth nozzle at the throttle body so now dual port meth.
DA31 in line fuel pump with Badger 5 fittings, braided in engine bay hoses with in line Ibiza Cupra fuel filter.
BBTK418T hot side ported by Badger .
Trackslag charge pipe with Cookbot exhaust manifold heat shield
Revised full 19mm catch can PVC Delete
3" Mandrel bent exhaust (old one had some crush bends in restricting flow)

Shes booked in Feb 1st for Bill to work his magic.
Since all of the upgrades, the bum dyno feels like its more powerful, placebo effect? Possibly.

Long drive down From Newcastle Sunday 31st. Hopefully a more enjoyable happy drive back after mapping #2

Will keep you updated.
The aim in my head is 330 bhp to match the results @daz-20vt got. Hes helped me loads and his car is very similar spec to mine.

Thanks also to @Tuffty @superkarl @badger5 and @Prawn who never fail to help me with hundreds of questions and pleads for advice.

Lets do this ! Just a long 2 weeks to wait .........

Sounds like you'll get some good results, and you've approached this better than anyone and have all the pieces of the puzzle. Fingers crossed for you. It's hard to imagine the engine not being a lot happier now.

What a weekend!
Early start Sunday to drive from Newcastle to Oxford to see a mate, had a good day out and an early night.
Drove across to Badger5 early this morning and greeted by Bill, had a chat and then it was smoke test time !
Instantly there was smoke billowing from the TIP, which was quickly sealed and refitted by the young lad (Nathan?) in minutes.
Bill ran the car up on the dyno and boom, First run 334 bhp! No map tweak, just a base run straight off the belt.
Many happy smiley faces and a massive sigh of relief from myself that the engine was now healthy after a year of pain with the cylinder head issues and disappointment of last time.

As above, the car had very little timing in the map as it wouldn't allow it, so Bill went away and tweaked the map and ran the car up again.
Final result..... 342bhp and 315 badger torques :) that's 365 torque if you use the 16% rule!
Massive thankyou to Bill and the team for their help and unreal customer service. Bill seriously knows his stuff, and I can't thank him enough for transforming my car.
Give the man a healthy engine with the right mods, and you are guaranteed to have a good day.
The drive back was ALOT of fun ha ha the difference is unbelievable.
That's me done power wise. Now handling and prep for my Nurburgring trip with the lads in April.
