As per the title, just wondering what discounts people managed to get?

I ordered an A3 1.4 CoD S-Tronic S-Line with comfort pack, electric lumbar, beam assist and non-smoking pack. All in, it came out at £26,695 OTR. I didn't really haggle, I just said that I was there to do a deal and wanted their best price and managed to get £1961 off (so £24,734 OTR). I pressed for a bit more but they wouldn't budge any further; although they did say a full tank of fuel and a set of velour floor mats will be thrown in. Did I get a good deal or is this par for the course?

A number of folk tend to get the brokers price - e.g. carwow, drive the deal etc, then use that to seek to get a close a deal to that as possible. Or if they dont get that, then they go with the online quote. So perhaps a check against some of those will give you feeling on how good a deal you got.

Orange Wheels - £23,967 on identical spec, a saving of £2,878. That's £767 better than what I was offered. However... factoring in the agro of ordering online and having to collect the car from (presumably) the other side of the country I think I'm happy with my deal.

just btw the floor mats are standard.

I did what mister.c said. Took an offer from online and got them to match. I did call up before to ask, as some dealers will match brokers and some won't, so no point in wasting each others time. Bear in mind, that if you get them to match the price, you will probably get diddly squat else after, but at least you get a big discount.

I got 9% of my new S3 using carwow. The best my local dealer could do was 6% and 1 free service. Some people have been getting 11+% by using brokers.

By the way forgot to add to my post above. I manged 10% and free fuel. It was around 200 quid off a orangewheels price at the time and didn't care for the extra 200 as it's a local dealer and have a good relationship with them now. So yup it wasn't easy though just kept pushing as others have said what's the worse they can say... No

Got a quote from CARWOW with a 12% discount for my S3 SB. Local dealer price matched without any haggling when I made it clear I wanted to test drive and order on that day.

Took 2.5 hours form start to end including one hour test drive and px valuation on my current car.

Well My S3 was £35K and I have paid just over £31K so have got about 11% off - this is from my local dealer ....

I took 3 online broker quotes into my local dealer who I bought from last time and they matched the price, all in I got 11.8% discount off my S3.
A good deal with the dealership experience and delivery planned for Sept 1st

12% on S3sb/s3 saloon, a lot less on the RS3 but still a decent amount :)

Looking at this not enough lol .... Next time perhaps.

10% plus a tank of fuel.................................who knows, if I play my cards right might even get a keyring on collection day ;)

Interesting thing happened a couple of weeks back on RS3 launch day. I went for the test drive and afterwards did the whole lets see if I can afford it run with the sales guy and his boss. Strange thing was that the GMFV for 48mths was £17,774 (or close to that). Now I had done some homework on the Audi UK website finance calculator and knew on there the GMFV was £21300 for 48mths (10,00miles). So I question the sales guy and he says that's correct there is no mistake. Thing was he seemed to be pushing 36mths (GMV £23700) and £660 odd monthlies as the 48mth option (at the GMFV he said was right) was only £35 a month less. I knew he was up to something so walked away at that point. When Audi called for feedback I explained what I thought was odd etc. and they apologised. Today I go to check again on the finance calculator and it has disappeared from the Audi UK website. Co-incidence? Paranoid?

I've had issue with GMFV's in PCP structuring. Same thing happened to me, dealer offered way lower amount than what was on the Audi website finance calculator. In the end, they matched it, which shouldn't be completely right, as my car has a lot more spec than the website example and while I know additional spec isn't worth much 3 years later, there must be some additional value. One thing I have been told is that the end of this month is a new financial quarter for Audi and all their PCP deals may reset. Maybe that's why the website offer was pulled.

10.5% with Carwow. Very good and simple to order

Most of you seem to have S3's which I assume you can get a bigger discount simply because you're spending more money. I think I got a reasonable deal on my A3 nonetheless.

I think you may be doing the good folk of ASN a disservice. I think they also got a bigger discount because of the planning, preparation and successful execution of the approach they took to buying a new car.

Maybe. I'm just ****** I didn't squeeze another £500 out of the dealer lol.

I got over 15% off from my local dealer and a few freebies such as the aluminium pedals. I just showed them my offers from Carwow and they beat the offers.

True, doing your research before hand on what discounts are achievable is a good start, but then it's also down to timing. If you get lucky and find a dealer behind on his targets, he's much more likely to give a better discount. In the end don't let the amount of discount you got spoil the new car you have. You obviously have agreed a price that is affordable for you and you have the car you want, so enjoy it and take it as a lesson learned for the next car purchase.

Around 9.5% when I ordered in Jan 2014.

I told them the discount offered by drivethedeal and they said they normally don't match it but they phoned me back a day later and the deal was done.

I didn't expect to get any extras on collection and didn't get any.

^ I doubt you’ll be losing any sleep about leaving the showroom without an Audi umbrella though :)

As far negotiating discounts I totally agree with WillC8, it’s mostly luck. Sure, there’s always one or two who fancy themselves as some kind of modern day Del-boy who can use their superior powers of charm and negotiation but the truth is most of the factors are completely outside their control.

I went back to the salesman I test drove with after getting the 10% agreed with my local dealer and quite honestly when I told him the price we’d agreed he couldn’t get off the phone quick enough ;)

I didn't get a 'bad' deal, I still managed a 7% discount without using any broker figures as a bargaining chip. Considering they wouldn't throw in the electric lumbar for free suggests I'd pushed them as far as they were willing to go anyway.

10.5% / £4400 off via Carwow / Coventry on a new S3 Saloon (which I'm picking up Monday afternoon!) :yahoo:

Wanted to place the order via the local dealer (Southend) as the sales guy was very helpful in organising a test drive but at circa £3000 more expensive, I couldn't justify using them. That's fuel for roughly 18 months (If my wife is driving )

The reason discounts are currently at around 10-12% is due to exchange rate differences. The rate that is used for UK dealers to buy cars from Audi is set at the start of the year and the £ has strengthened by this amount. So in effect dealers can offer this discount without affecting their margins. I expect when the rate is set next year these discounts will disappear...so buy new and be happy!!!!!

I drive past the Coventry Audi at 06.30 every morning as all the vehicles are being delivered. They are clearly very competitive and loads of S3/A3 are being dropped off.

My car came to £37,705. I paid £28,771.49

I got it tax free and with 8% discount :)
