what would you recommend for cleaning saline alloys and how to do it.

A product was recommended in Auto Express about a month ago but I don't remember which.
Cheers,

ValetPro Billberry Wheel Cleaner, a long handled alloy wheel brush and a pressure washer.

The Billberry is acid-free so its much gentler on the wheels than some other strong cleaners. Dilite it with water up to 1:3, spray on, leave for 5 minutes, agitate with the brush, pressure wash off.

Roll car forward half a wheel rotation and repeat above. If you want to keep them clean for a bit longer then a good wax will help (and/or a wheel sealant such as Gtechnic C5).

This is my fortnightly routine and it works well for me.

ValetPro Billberry Wheel Cleaner

+2 here. Excellent product and as @mjcourtney says, every 2 weeks is fine. Any longer and you may need a stronger mix ratio. Valet Pro also do something called Dragon's Breath which is stronger and more expensive. People tend to only use this occasionally on the basis of the cost. I've not used it myself, yet!

I have been using Bilberry for a couple of years now and it's very good if used reasonably regularly but it will struggle to remove brake dust etc that's really baked on (in my experience).

As others have said, regular cleaning is the way to go - and if you apply a good sealant (Gtechniq C5 is top notch and lasts for months and FK1000p also gets great write ups on Detailing World) then washing will (or should) be straightforward with no real agitation required if done regularly.

I recently bought some wheel cleaner after reading reviews including the Auto Express one who recommended Bilt Hamber auto wheel.

I bought some and I have to say it's probably the best stuff I have ever used for cleaning wheels. The product is really powerful yet PH neutral .

Karl.

Bilt Hamber Auto Wheel for me as well - I purchase mine through Ultimate Finish - http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/bilt-hamber/auto-wheel.aspx. It is an excellent product which cleans very well and washes off easily.

Another vote for ValetPro Billberry Wheel Cleaner and Gtechniq C5 Wheel Armour.

£20 for a wheel brush? Seems a lot to me. I just stick my arm in and drag a sponge around the inside of the alloy. I may start taking the alloys off once a month.
If you've ever cleaned laser cut wheels by your method then I feel sorry for your hands because when I tried mine got cut to pieces. You can get it cheaper and I just found that site quickly to illustrate. It its a very good product and I wouldn't be without it now.

+1 for the product, -1 for the seller.
a set of 'wheel woolies' is also a good investment if you've got small wheels/big hands so you can clean the bit of the rim next to the caliper without rolling the car forward.
