Hi everyone I think maybe someone can help me with this,i have an A6 diesel avant s line lately it has taken to cutting out or after restarting having run ok, to running really rough then cutting out loads of warning lights on dash wont restart, leave it for a few minutes it starts and runs ok no lights. Any ideas .

Telling us the engine might help! Have you had it on a dispagnostic machine, preferably VCDS or at a main dealer?

Sorry about that!!!! its a 2 litre diesel, and no it hasn't been on a diagnostic if it had I would not be asking the question !, I just thought that maybe someone had experienced similar problems and if so there may be a quick fix.

Could be anything, maf, injectors, speed sensor, temp sensor, injector wiring fault, etc etc etc, that why darren asked about the car being scanned. Just because someone may have had a similar fault, it does not mean yours is the same and you can spend ££££ on parts or find some local to you with VCDS and give them £20 and locate the actual fault!

Thanks for that, looks like I will have to get it on diagnostic, but it was worth a shout.

A really big thank you, sent a post to someone not far away from me hopefully he will be able to pinpoint the problem, its not there all the time it comes and goes not every day sometimes not for a couple of months. Anyway thanks again for your help.
