really you should also replace the dampers with uprated ones as well to do the job properly.

Not sure how much negative camber is created by lowering the A3 with eibach springs but you may also need some form of camber adjustment so that you can get the best out of the car handling wise and also so you dont scrub the edges of your tyres.

I would advise doing the job properly really or not at all from past experience

Agreed. Stiffer springs with standard dampers often give you a bouncy ride.

Horchsense, I would go further and question why you'd really want to lower the car at all, especially as you admit you know nothing about suspension! Unless you tear up the roads every day, changing the it for a lower and firmer setup is going to spoil the ride and the car won't necessarily handle any better.

I've lowered my 3 door, initially with a pro-kit and then with a sportline kit.

Depending what spec you have now will depend which kit you want to go for. If it's an S-line you'll need the sportline.

For pics have a look at the thread at the top of the forum for my car, there's pics as standard, pro kit and the final ones with the sport line kit.

Regarding ride quality the pro kit gives a beter ride than the standard S-line suspension. The sport line is obviously harder as it is lower but still perfectley acceptable.

Regarding swapping the shocks, if your car is an old wreck with a million miles then yes. If not your standard ones will be fine. The likes of VW and Mazda offer dealer fitted sports suspension which is just a set of Eibach springs.

Personally if your going for springs go for Eibachs or H&R.

If you look at the s-line models you'll notice they run quite a lot of camber on the fronts as standard.

I've not noticed any adverse wear since lowering mine. In fact I have just managed to get 18K out of a set of front F1's, compared to 12-13K from the standard fit rosso's.
