Finally got around to de-badging the rear of the b8 and my v5 came through today so put my plates on too. I do prefer a nice smooth rear!

Sorry about the crap pics......

It's a funny one, small mod but makes such a difference. Rear tints will finish it off nicely.

Nice job

I like the plain plates too can't beat a good show plate mine are the same

Have de-badged front of mine

Thanks. Yeah never been a fan of all that extra writing on the plates. Just looks a lot "cleaner"

Looks much better mate, thats always the first thing I do!:grinning: .. When my Dad got his A3 Saloon he was out with the hair dryer de-badging the same day! :haha:

Thanks mate, I'm much happier with the way it looks now. Don't think I can see my dad doing the same with his motorhome haha.

I didn't need to use the hairdryer on this one, managed to get some dental floss behind each letter and then used "sticky stuff" remover to take off the sticky pads. Much easier on this one than the b7 I had, they took an age to remove!

I like the extra writing but I do a custom plate that looks close to STD but subtly different, black boarder, black Eruo/UK emblem and Audi rings, there is also a cheecky couple of extra spaces between the letters.

I drive in mainland Europe a couple of times a year so like the emblem on the plate rather than having to stick a sticker on the back of the car.

Must agree that does look smart. Sometimes less is more but I like the tweek on the oem look!

.....put extra spaces on my number plate, you wouldn't catch me doing that, honest officer!

I like the debadging. Looks smoother and as it was designed to be not cluttered by pesky little signs. I have all the badges of my S4 but my front grille needs something back, I'm looking for something discreet which doesn't say S4... Hmmm might be a German flag type GmbH badge

All the black bits (boarder etc.) looks good on a black car and mine is ALL black.

The extra spaces used to cause an issue about 4 - 5 years ago with number plate recognition at automatic car parks like Stanstead airport beacuse when you book you give you reg and the gate opens when you arrive when it recognises the reg, the extra spaces used to fool it but thats been fixed now. Its a little cheeky to add them but I have seen so much worse, you worldn;t really geuss and I've been putting them in for 15 years and never been questioned about it.

It does mean I have a new set of plates for every new car though which is extra cost.

I get them here:

Stick to audis then pal and you'll not have to buy another set, you know it makes sense!

I've only got the one extra space in there. Hardly noticeable really

I would do usually but last car was a X5M, before that B6 S4, before that C63 AMG, beofre that E90 M3, you got try these things. I need to try a Nissan GTR at some point so you never know what'll happen to the RS4, although I am pretty sure it'll be a new RS6 next.

You sound like a mate of mine, had every car under the sun and currently driving an m135. Personally I'd just go for the plain plates if I changed cars that much

Hehe, you got try these things, sadly I'm 6'4" so things like 135's don't fit me, I like a bit of space. Also, if you're spending £40k - £60k on a car, £32 on a set of plates is not a big deal. I am a little OCD and details like the plates make a difference to me, this is th 1st set of plates that don;t have the model designation on them, the RS logo wasn't right.

Also, every car has been black, this is the best black I've had, Panther Crystal. Is this another OCD thing? Now I am getting worried lol!

I still have a hanckering for a 911 but the wife is not a fan of two seater cars, you never know, maybe one day.

Last pic looks ace mate :sunglasses::sunglasses::sunglasses:

@silentbrown thats an option but I'm not sold on it yet.
@Chop. that supercharged badge is what I thought of first but now I think it looks too different to oem badges but the black and red Quattro badge is worth a try and I might even like it. Is blank at the moment but there's an obvious space made for a badge so I'll have to put something there.
@GeoffDunk that 911 hankering will never go away, they're just in a whole different class but your mrs will hate it. Mines making fun out of me as we speak for being on this forum now I should get a 911 and take her out in it to shut her up lol.

Supercharged badge is OEM in the US and can be replaced for the V6T badges at time of order placed.

I will own a 911 one day, either a 4S or a GT3.
