A6 2.5 TDI AFB 00575 Inlet manifold pressure exceeded.

Symptoms include intermetent loss of power, ranging from total loss & having to cruise to a stop on the hard shoulder to partial loss i.e. wont rev beyond 3k & then gradually falls off.
Particularly bad first thing in the morning (within first 1/2 mile of my journey) or when accelerating hard to overtake or get up to speed on motorway slip road.

The above code if cleared, will return after the first loss of power incident.

I've checked all vac hoses & they seem to be OK.
It doesn't smoke.
VGT actuator seemed to operate fully & smoothly last night when & sypathetic Audi tech ran a test with his gadgetry (does this also confirm N75 performance?)
Also during test with same gadgetry boost was found to be operating within acceptable parameters.
MAF was fine at tickover but showed a shortfall when on throttle.
Any pointers would be gratefully recieved.

Im new to these engines but would the above not indicate a faulty sensor?
 
I had same symptoms / fault code with mine a couple of months ago, i too checked all pipe work from actuator to N75 boost control valve, made sure actuator on turbo was moving free etc, cleared the code and took it for a drive and it was still the same,
So next i removed the electrical connector plug from the N75 and sprayer the connectors with contact spray and it’s been fine ever since, worth a try.
If still no luck id say the N75 valve is giving you problems.
 
Post dynamic log of channel 11 from VCDS. Floor it from 1500rpm until redline. Also 3rd and 8th will be usefull for diagnosis for beginning (also dynamic but logged in three separate runs).

i have exactly the same problem have you managed to resolve your problem.
 
i would appreciate any info on this problem please i have the same fault code and same symptoms on my audi a6 2.5 tdi

I have exactly the same fault code and same problem and was wondering if you had any joy in resolving yours

I have exactly same problem, BDG 2.5 V6, error code 00575 and limp mode after 3000 revs. I have changed vacuum pipes, replaced N75, cleaned turbo (with Mr Muscle!) and cleaned MAF with an electrical spray. Nothing has worked - has anyone found a resolution? - Geoff

I have the same issue on mine... A 1.9 AFN TDi...

Have changed:

New HQ MAF last year
New 3 Bar map sensor
Vacuum hoses
Hard vacuum pipes
New N75
Brand new Reman Turbo and actuator (previous actuator faulty and wouldn't move smoothly and also would not hold a vacuum)

Have checked connections on N75 and the MAF and Map


Still in Limp mode...


Anyone got any ideas? Its driving me mad!

My problem resolved with remanufactured turbo and car is going fine. You seem to have done everything I did, including the turbo. Only thing I can think of - there is a small round valve on the vacuum line (bulkhead) with one side white, and the other side black. Is it the right way round? Sorry that I can't be more help! geoffreytro

I have tried that valve and it doesn't seem to make a difference, I will try a straight hose and see if that shows any change... and order a new one just incase its has stuck...

I have bought a decat pipe and a complete SS Exhaust as it could be the cat breaking up and blocking the gasses escape....


I am working all over the country at the moment so there might be a slight delay in getting the exhaust on and replying online but as soon as I do, I will let you know...

Sounds like you are not 'dumping'
The VNT turbo has variable nozzle guidevanes that move to reduce the pressure produced by the compressor.
If you are over-boosting, the guidevanes are not being told to move, or not moving enough.
New hoses, N75 and actuator should mean it's moving test by watching the actuator on engine start.

Carbon build-up around the vane ring causes sticking (See 'Mr Muscle Turbo Clean) but is unlikely on you one as it has a new unit fitted.

2.5TDi Sluggish has some info on the set-up of the turbo.
It appears new turbos are often not set correctly (actuator rod length/stop screw), causing over-boost, or under-boost issues.

You need to do the log runs (Basic ECTM ;) ) with VCDS and try and work out what your vanes are doing - and what they should be doing.

Hopefully removing the cat works. My turbo man suggested this when I replaced the turbo. I didn’t need to do this - but it seems to be a recognised fix to improve performance

Well I have no idea why the turbo wouldn't boost following the replacement being installed...

First drive it was awful... second had boost for about two minutes then back to limp...

Left it for a few days, took the car to the local dump... all in limp and when left drove along the sea front and bit by bit the boost came back and all seems well... over 3000 miles since and it seems to be OK.


Decat pipe installed and a new Stainless Steel Jetex system and it pulls rather well and spools up nicely...


So the Gremlins who were obviously having a laugh came in over night and fixed things the same as they went in and broke them! Little buggers!!


Just need to sort out the vacuum hoses and removing the N18 valve from the system as it is no longer necessary, and Bobs your fathers brother!
