My S3 has both hold assist and electronic parking brake.

I've been wondering why there is a manual control for the parking brake since, every time I stop and turn off the engine to leave the car, I can feel the parking brake activate under my right foot. The hold assist does a good job on all manner of inclines, so why the need for a parking brake control at all?

I should search this forum for Hill Hold Assist and Hold Assist and you will see why quite a number of us think you should the the EPB more often and not just rely on the Hold Assist. I have both on my A3 but I leave the Hold Assist switched off all the time.

I haven't hill control, so if I didn't have an epb I'd have to park it in gear all the time. I also don't think it would conform to vehicle regulations.

Hold Assist?

Most pointless and worst option ever :p

veeeight, Just noticed your Black Edition banner.
I didn't know you had the black edition. :zap: :sunglasses: Nice!

no such thing (to date) if you are referring to an 8V, which I think you are. Semantics if you order Black Styling Pack - but in Audi speak, that's not a "Black Edition" by any means.
