Now for something a little bit different!

I ordered this a couple of weeks ago - should be with me next week. Looks like a good camera.

Got it delivered today. Have to say that I was pleasantly surprised at the build quality so far. Manual is in proper English and generally feels like a good piece if kit. Can't wait to get it fitted!

What did you think of this? I'm still torn between waiting out for something similar from a better known supplier

I love it! The packaging and product quality is very good, and it's easy to use. Video quality is top notch, just like in the review you posted. It takes a bit of effort to install, but after that, there is no need to faff about with it other than to press the 'keep segment button' or take the SD card out to get the recorded video.

The biggest, and in my use case, only issue with it is the recorded sound quality - it's next to pointless. That's also mentioned in the review.

Couple of videos from a recent trip to Wales:

I haven't installed the rear-facing camera yet, but that will be going in soon, once I organise myself for an upcoming rear speaker/sub upgrade, so will get that in at the same time. The great thing with that, is that the unit allows you to set one of the video strewm to be duplicated via an AV out connector, whcih will be connected to my new Android head unit, whcih will use it as a reversing camera at the same time!

I'd say that if sound is of no concern to you and you want a permanent/stealth video install, then this is the kit for you :)

Don't suppose there is a way of using the rear facing camera as reversing cam with the the OEM screen and some VCDS codings that you,now of?

I've seen so,e really good reviews, but lots of reports of restarting randomly. I'm not bothered about the sound, and it's the perfect form factor... I'm surprised there are still no similar alternatives available yet though!

I haven't had restarting issues (that I know of). Using good quality/fast SD card seems to be the trick. Also using a 32GB card seems to help to avoid issues with them too.

I'm not sure about RNS-E, but if it can take a simple AV-in video feed, then I don't see why you couldn't use that.

Pretty sure you can do that with the correct MMI adapter actually, might just be a case using a switch to alter the source... Cheers for info, will get around to purchasing one of these :)
