Terraclean - is it worth it?

I've been reading mixed reviews and want to know if anyone has any up to date opinions on it?

I have a 1.9tdi 130 AVF B6 Avant with 118k miles on it, I've owned the car for two weeks and wonder if it would benefit from having a terraclean. The cost is £108 (mobile treatment).

Sam,

I got mine done in November. Audi A4 B8 2.0 TDI 170 S Line Black Edition quattro.

I was hoping for improved fuel economy.

If I'm honest it made didly squat of a difference - it might have done a good job and cleaned inside the engine but I did not see any benefits.

Not telling you not to do it but I won't be doing it again unless I have a particular problem ie a DPF clean or something.

Thanks for your response Andy! It has helped. I think on further reflection, for now, I will run some millers diesel additive and forte injector cleaner through. As well as a good service - even though it was done 3k miles ago anyway!

That's all I do now, run millers through once a mth!

Forget it - placebo says it works.

No substitute for a proper clean - i.e - intake manifold off.

Apparently there are two versions of this - one that cleans just the outlet, and the other cleans inlet... not all Terraclean agents have both..

I'm not sure it works wonders like they say, but I can forsee that it will improve a Diesel engine with a mucky egr set up (as the inlets fill with soot & carbon)
But I still think it's a swiz
