Hi,
Can anyone help me with a problem am having with my 2005 A4 140. I put it into the garage to have the glow plugs replaced and since getting it back have noticed that when it is cold it starts first turn of the key but once it is up to running temp it takes 4 turns of the engine before it will start. Any glues as to what this might be the garage has no idea.

hi there, i have a mate who had the same problem as you on a vw touran i think it is but it was a VAG car any way, eventually his starter motor completely packed in and when he replaced it the problem was no more. I have never heard of starters doing this sort of thing but the way i see it the starters are probably very similar in a lot of models across the VAG range and it is probably worth a shot if it is annoying you too much.

Hi studnc06, Thanks for the info will look into that and let you know if it works. Cheers

just thought i would mention i do have a spare starter but i did buy it for mine and its a 170 but it was the wrong one. if you are wanting to go for the starter let us know the part number and i shall have a look and see if it is the same, it is brand new and never used.
