Hi

I am looking for some advice here please? I have a brand new Audi A4 se technik 2litre tdi 163 ultra.

I am wanting the halogen headlights as they look really good, can I get this done as I have already got car? If so does anyone have an idea of the cost? I know it was an extra when ordering and cost about £2500 which I thought was ridiculous.

Any advice would be great!

Thanks

Do you actually mean Halogen or Xenon? Not quite sure why you would want to retrofit Helogen and I would have also thought the its Helogen as standard (FOC) and the upgrade for £2500 would be for Xenon.

hey!
Oops yeah I mean the xenon headlights lol!

Is there anyway I can get them now or would I need to take the ca to an audi garage and pay £2500?

Thanks :)

I'm just about to retrofit the oem bixenons to my a5 (similar car underneath the sexy bodywork) it is possible to retrofit but can be a bit of work depending on what control modules you have. Mine will cost me less than £500 all in to convert.

Hey!

That's not bad! £500 all in, I have no idea where I would go to get them done as an audi garage is too pricey!

Where are you based and someone might be able to point you in the right direction. £500 is just the cost of the parts I'll be fitting mine myself.

Hey

I'm based in Fife area! Yeah I would need to get the parts and someone to fit them. It would be great if someone knew somewhere or could point me in the right direction :)

Rob Austin Racing is selling a set on ebay for £800, brand new and bulbs ect included, there are cheaper sets though, but they appear to be used, Rob has a "make an offer" on the sale of these, so you could put in a cheeky offer and see how it goes.
I am in no way connected with this sale.
Just type in Audi A4 B8 Facelift Xenon Headlights into ebay search.

Thanks! Yeah I searched on eBay and found the ones you said! Seems good. I could put an offer in and see what he says

Thanks!

Be careful as I'm not sure if its the same on the facelight b8 but you might also need an upgraded central electrics module depending on what one you have currently installed.

I think it maybe worthwhile doing a little more research Heather, as Ian said, you may need other parts to get them to work properly, also for MOT purposes I am sure you need headlight washers with Xenons. There's a few threads on this, just google it, lol.

Ok I will do! Thanks for your help and advice on this! Much appreciated :)

Yeah I'm heading that way next week so I'll pop in and ask as they were a really nice garage where I bought my car so I'm sure they won't mind :)

Thanks

Don't forget you will also need the kufatec adaptor if it's not already included in the ebay sale

Audi won't have a clue what you need and will only quote you prices for what's fitted to your car.

You need a vcds scan to see which controller you have and whether it's fcompatible and pinned for xenon shutter.

You also need to check the version of headlight(s) you are bidding in whether they're adaptive/non or LHD/RHD.

Headlight washers you need a new bottle, pump, pump wiring, genuine hose, headlight washer jets and a new bumper with headlight washer cut out.

This is not a quick easy or inexpensive modification. Meanwhile, as Darren92 has indicated, the risk of buying the wrong parts is high. If you go to the sponsors section of the forum (click here) we have several sponsors who are retrofit experts. Have a browse and then contact one of them via the messaging system (start a conversation) and they should be able to give you much better information than you will ever get from an Audi dealer.
