Hey guys and gals, so I return...again...again

Been a member for some years, owned a couple of A3 S-Lines but then things got serious and I had to move up with the big boys!
So after departing from my 2013 A3 S-Line, which was very, very well specced, I went for the fat lad...the BMW 520D M Sport. My god I love it! But as the miles cruised by, things started to get expensive and with the warranty running out in 6 weeks and it being on nearly 100k miles, it was time to go.
Here he is;

So now on to the good stuff!
Obviously it's an A5, hence why I'm posting here ;)
Wanted a sport back, mainly because it was the closest thing to my 5 series as I didn't fancy an A6. But then, browsing through Audi's approved cars I saw this gorgeous girl!

I've never officially owned a cab before!
So by now, you've probably guessed I'm a bit of a poser (will happily admit it) and I fell in love with the A5 cab!
She's a 2.0tdi 177 S-Line, got the important stuff like MMI Sat Nav High, Bluetooth Prep High and a few other little bits and bobs but I'm chuffed! Pick her up next Saturday on an epic road trip...Grimsby, Lincolnshire to London for 12:30pm then London to Exeter, Devon which is another 4 hours!

So come on guys, give me some idea for mods ;)

19" rotors were first on my list for definite.
Thought about a black edition grill but there's still the chrome around the windscreen and base of the hood which I quite like so undecided at the minute, may look ok?

I guess the A5 side of this forum is a little quiet!

3 days until pick up, can not wait!!
First thing will be a detail, going to order a load of stuff from cleanyourcar tonight to add to my already stupidly oversized collection of cleaning products!

May plump for a BE grill as I'm off next week I can get it fitted.

Yeah the A5 section is a bit quiet but hopefully with some of us moving over from other parts of the forum it will start to liven up a bit.

Nice car by the way!

Thanks Ian, yes I hope so! Be good to get to know some of you guys better :)

So last night I made a few purchases from cleanyourcar.co.uk!
Next week will kick off with a full detail of the following;

Citrus pre wash
Jet wash
Two bucket wash (AG)
Iron and tar remover (tardis and ironx)
Full clay (chemical guys)
Another two bucket wash (AG)
Jet wash
Pat down drying method (chemical guys micro fibres)
Air line to remove excess water
Full polish (AG super resin)
Full sealant coat (chemical guys jetseal)

Then the following day will be;

Removing all wheels, Bilberry clean, tar and iron remover, clayed and sealed.
Fabric roof to be protected with chemical guys fabric guard.

Hopefully that'll get her looking excellent, and of course, pictures to follow :)

I did the same detail to my A3 when I had it, made a massive difference.
Will be doing it to the A5 soon.

Make sure you get some before and after pictures of your detail

I detailed my old 8P A3 a few years back and it looked stunning. Agree, does make a massive difference!

Don't know if the pictures will do much justice as it'll be clean from picking it up tomorrow but it should hopefully get rid of some swirls and protect the wheels from motorway grime as I do a lot of miles.
Anyone got a picture of an A5 with the new style RS4 alloys on? Not sure how it would look on the A5?

Great looking Cab Mate.

Hope all goes well and you enjoy your drive home :)

Well guys, after an awful drive to London, the cab is finally mine!
Jct 12-18 on the M25 was congested so the BMW said, would you like to re-route? Being an idiot I said yes and ended up partially going into London central! I've driven over 10 hours today but four of those have been in the Audi and 2 of those have been in glorious sunshine with the roof down!

First impressions;
Struggling to get used to the difference in throttles between the BMW and Audi. The BMW pivoted from the bottom where as the Audi is from the top so requires more of a 'press' so to speak to get going anywhere.
The roof opens and closes very, very quickly which is a bonus at traffic lights!
All of the overhead lights are already LED so that saves a job, I love the rear lights built into the fabric roof!
The Bang & Olufsen sound system is excellent, although I agree with WarrenS5 and a few others, the Mid tones are lacking somewhat but bass and treble are superb.
The acoustic roof has far exceeded my expectations, driving at 80mph, it was incredibly quiet in the car, conversations would be very pleasant in the cabin!
Boot space isn't bad, wide and deeper than it is high which is the issue but a bonus that the rear seats fold down. I'm also very impressed with the rear seat room for a cab.

Overall I'm sold, so happy with the purchase and here's a cheeky picture, more this week as I detail her :)
Thanks for all your comments so far!

Just a few pictures after the full days detail.
I'm a bit disappointed with the chemical guys fabric guard, after 4 coats it's still not great. May try building them up.

NICE!
what mods you have planned for this? one of my friends has the 2.0 tfsi A5 cab in shiraz red and has gone all in with the aluminium pack... just had us retrofit in the RS5 folding mirrors and an RS5 grill:

That is stunning!!
I love Shiraz red.

Not sure the chrome would suit my car so I think BE grill to start with, I've decided on the 19" V Spokes that are standard on the A4 black edition now with some spacers, going to measure up tonight to see what I can get away with.
Will probably lower it and remap later this year but the wheels are in dire need of replacement, they're too small for the cab hence why I've put them up for sale.

All this talk of Shiraz is making me thirsty!!!

Both cars are stunning by the way.
