Holy spec change batman..................!!!

OK, so I got the well known mid-order wobbles on my spec!! Rang the dealer to check if I was still in time to change. He checked with base camp and said yes although had I left it until tomorrow would have been a no!!

This will likely split members here but what the heck, my choice and it's done now:

Panther Black is gone and replaced with Daytona Grey. Was split from day 1 but maintenance was a big factor!
Pano-roof is gone and replaced with B&O sound and reversing camera. I'll likely miss the roof but don't feel it goes with Daytona and sound is king for me so thought I'd spec the best and never regret not having done it

Best of all though, now confirmed build for 6 July :racer:

Well it was inevitable.... And daytona is an amazing paint job... At the end of it your the one who has to live with it for the next 3 years or so... What build week are you in again Simon?

Izzy, I'm on BW28. Dealer said we've got an outside chance of collection mid July as some of their recent orders have been coming through from the factory quicker, but more likely end July

Spec choice split members on here? Never!

I had the same problem, and was going to drop Mag Ride for B&O and mono.pur but when my dealer told me I'd loads of time, what he actually meant was loads of time "today" to change it....... So I missed the boat.....

However I'm pretty pleased with the spec, and hoping the Audi sound system will be good enough.

Definitely wouldn't drop mag ride for B&O mate so reckon your ok there

I'm sure the Audi system is really good I just wanted something a bit more banging for my classic rock/prog, and from a nerdy point of view I'll have the poncy lights round the speakers as already specced interior light pack

...........all I can say is it's really tough with these specs, you want everything but have to draw the line somewhere. Feel like I need a stiff drink now.....................

Dont want to drag up more stock vs *** vs B and O, but Im sure you will like ***, its plenty good enough for me!

I didn't select mag ride out of principle. It costs less than 300 euros to upgrade to it in Germany, so can't help feeling that we are very much getting ripped off here in Blighty.

As for spec change, I think I have made about 5 or 6 changes since I ordered my S3 at the end of April. It's got to the stage now where I have told the dealership to refuse to let me add anything else, regardless of how much I protest.

Nice switcherooony...Daytona is my second best colour lol...Deletion of Panroof.........er ??? being blunt here Do you really need the Audi Connect? l would dump this and use the extra dosh for something else Simon.....its a waste of money

I'm BW 27 too and mine was locked into status 10 last week my dealer told me, so no chance to add / remove anything. He's probably fed up with my multiple option changes though, and couldn't be bothered to do the paperwork and just fobbed me off with a "yeah it's now locked"!

I believe that options are like a drug, and everybody here are dealers......!

I'm going cold turkey now....

Good work Simon !! Not seen a mid order colour change before lol !!

B&O is epic so you won't regret that it's one of the things I most enjoy about my car.

Connect is a bit of a marmite option really I love the google maps overlay on the sat nav but that's about it really. Hopefully Audi may add some more useful stuff in there later. For the money mono pur is a better option or the reversing camera.

I've been very strict and made no changes at all since i submitted my order. I'll admit there had been a little temptation to add mono.pur but in truth I won't miss it. Daytona a lovely colour, only reason I went for Monsoon is the g/f has a Daytona A1 and we don't want the same colour, plus I actually think Monsoon contrasts better with the chrome and aluminium (plus sorry, looks awesome with a pano roof!). Love black but my last A3 was black so wanted a change.

@Rob2k68.......thanks, gotta say I'm really looking forward to the B&O. There's not a day goes by when I'm not smashing out the music in the car so it'll certainly get plenty of use

@sunscreemer...... admire your restraint!! I'm usually incredibly solid when it comes to making choices doing hours of research etc etc but this just got the better of me I'm afraid

As I said was caught between the devil and the deep blue sea! In truth I won't get the time it takes to keep Panther looking tip top like some of the amazing detailing job other members have done so it was the only right move for me tbh

Very good choices in my opinion, the B&O spec is an excellent choice, for me it was an absolutely non negotiable in terms of whether I could afford it, it was going in!

Good choice of colour too. I desperately wanted Daytona, when I ordered my s3 saloon in jan14 I was initially told by the dealer I could get Daytona, then within a few days I discovered I couldn't so changed it monsoon. Then Daytona got offered on s3's but my car was locked down and the spec couldn't be changed. I'm not disappointed with monsoon but I still think I would have preferred the Daytona. I'd love to see a pic of a monsoon and Daytona side by side. From what I've seen there is a great pop on the colour in the sun.

Monsoon is a fantastic colour too. To be perfectly honest when I questioned the difference between the two at the showroom the dealer had a really hard time remembering which was which! From what I can tell Monsoon is a smidge lighter.

I actually specced Daytona before changing to Panther!! (guess I am worthy of that trophy after all) Lol
