Hi all had the around 2 weeks now and loving it one thing I've noticed is when setting off the EPB releases with a jerk this happens around 90% of the time the other 10 is nice and smooth I do have hold assist the £90 option but surely it should be a smooth release. The wife's starting to complain of whiplash.

My routine in my s-tronic is a quick jab and release of the accelerator, this disengages the handbrake, and then apply accelerator normally again to pull away smoothly.

Even without Hold Assist it is jerky otherwise.

This is a feature of Hold Assist, unless you carefully release it first either a gentle tap of the throttle.
Actually the same happens as well even if HA is turned off.
My routine - HA normally off unless I specifically want it (eg sometimes in traffic queues)
When starting off, manually release handbrake. And manually apply as well when HA is off of course.

I find this the best way to avoid critisism from my wife of my driving skills!!

Mine is manual gearbox without hold assist, but I do often get a jerky pull away. When I was test driving, the salesman said I should press the footbreak and then release the epb manually so as to avoid any jerkiness. I did it for a few days after taking delivery, but it makes pulling away a bit complicated, so I just use the epb as it's supposed to be used and put up with the odd jerky take off.

^^^ that's complicated as in it's what everyone's been doing for the last hundred years, apart from it was a manual handbrake!

Mine sets off perfectly smoothly every time., its a manual and no HA but the 184 A3 I had before could be a little jerky.

Mine was really smooth when I first had it.
Think I've lost the knack now as I often find the front end rising up before I stop and try again when it usually releases.
Often use the manual off now as well as it makes you look like a rubbish driver when you have a passenger in the vehicle i.e. it looks like you've forgotten to release the handbrake !?
