And I worry that wine/flowers means I failed to negotiate hard enough :)
I'll let you know whether I get anything else, but I have a feeling the answer will be nothing else! lol
Gorgeous S4. Did you add the ? If I get an S4 for normal daily use, should I be super concerned about whether or not it has the SD?

Can't wait to see more pics of this beast.
Cheers buddy :)
No. No didn't spec Sports Differential. For me, I don't know whether I would have noticed its benefits TBH
@Bristle Hound

Hey, Col, I'm so pleased for you! That looks so awesome.

I won't be around at the weekend, but can't wait to hear news once you have thar car.
@jdp1962 - Thanks Jeff :)
@Bristle Hound looks stunning :sign yum:

Looking forward to seeing the car over the weekend, PIcs Pics and more Pics please.

Your post actully brought a smile to my face :D
Cheers my friend :)

LOL
And the front arch...:p

Well done BH, looking forward to the pics after your detail!! Stunning in Sepang! :)
Will sort that pic out, promise. Don't want any swirls on it ! lol
Unfortunately Andy it won't be getting detailed for at least another 2 weeks as I have quite a lot on in the first 2 weeks of June, hence my initial collection date of 16th June, but as usual circumstances change
Can I ask @Bristle Hound - why would the dealer provide an incentive to take the car earlier than you had originally planned?

My car is due @ September, but may appear in August and I would likely wait until the new registrations before picking the car up. However I couldn't really give a rats *** about having a 'new' plate so would pick up early if it was in the dealers interest, and they offer an incentive to do so.

Just wondering how you managed to get 2 free services so I have some ammo should I find myself in the same position later on this year ..

Thx.
@TheFiftheElement - The car just got to the Dealers and I wondered whether they would want it shifting in May as opposed to my initial date of 16th June, so I thought what the hell and asked about any incentives to take it early in May. The Dealer initially offered one service and I said no and was willing to wait till the 16th June. The Dealer then came back with 2 services which I would have been crazy to turn down TBH. Don't forget the S4 is a 3litre V6 so servicing is more expensive than a S3

If I were you I would wait until the car is actually at the Dealers before you start your 'negotiations'. If you don't ask you'll never know. Good luck buddy!
Fixed that for you.
Cheers Jeff! lol
One thing does occur to me, Col. If you're picking it up tomorrow, that's 30th May, so does that mean you're losing almost the entire first month's (very expensive) VED? If so, wouldn't Monday be better, or is that what the dealer incentive is about, to get it registered in May?
Surprisingly for me I remembered that one Jeff & got the year and a week so I don't miss out on a months expensive road tax :)
Looks awesome BH!
I managed to see my car in the compound, was horrified to see how high it sat - but it still had the chocks in the suspension.

Have a great day tomorrow, hope the weather is ok for you bud!
Thanks buddy :)

@Bristle Hound droooooollllll...... oh wow, how nice is that.
Thanks buddy :)
It hits their sales figures for May, so if May was a particularly slow month, he/they may hit targets etc. with BH's S4 ;)
^ This ;)
amazing looking car and a great buildup thread
Cheers Gordon :)

First off I want to take the opportunity to apologise about the lateness of this write up about my new S4

Yesterday as well as today have been absolutely crazy and I really don't know where time has gone. However, I did know it was and still is for quite a few days more, going to continue in the same theme

As you will all recall I only went into my supplying Audi Dealers to arrange collection for the 16th June. This would have slotted right into my schedule, but as with all things in life circumstances changed & I ended up taking delivery of my car (for the right incentives ;)) early

My Salesperson, Stuart, I must say did IMO go the extra yard. Every request I made to him was carried out without complaint. Apparently I'm not the 1st customer who he has had with shall we say 'unusual' request's lol

The good lady and I turned up at 10am. My S4 was parked in the 'no public access' section at the rear of the showroom exactly as I had seen it in the compound. Dirty! I was very pleased. When he showed us the car there were ½ a dozen A4 size 'do not clean' signs on the inside of the car! He then moved it round to the 'Delivery suite', saying I know, I know no satin sheet for the reveal. He really is getting to know me well!

I drove the car home, which was less than 2 miles away and put it straight in the garage and went straight off out again. The car still had all the transit cardboard on the interior etc so I couldn't really use it.

I got around 2 hours with the S4. This time was used to remove all the transit coverings in the interior, which was then cleaned / hoovered and some year old front mats form my old B8 A4 put in (want to save the new ones's for when I do the Detail). A few light grease marks here & there on the interior which were easily removed but otherwise everything seems ok. I also got to remove all the remaining exterior white film on the car's exterior piano black bits

Popped the bonnet to have a look as you do lol which eventually ended up with me giving the engine bay a good clean! Weird eh!

Had a closer inspection of the paintwork and all seems fine, swirl and mark free from what I can see so far. It does however have some adhesive left on from the removal of the transit film, which, when I get the time will be easy enough to remove

& that was it. I didn't even get time to wash the car

I decided to go and pick the wife up in it as I wanted a little 'play'. So after a 20 mile round trip back in the garage, no wash as no time :(

Didn't even get to get the S4 out of the garage on Sunday :(

First impressions (after 20 miles & a bit of playing in the garage)

Ohhh the 3 litre V6 noise is loverly

The needle sweep at start up is a neat touch

S-tronic is lazy mans driving if you want it to be, but if you don't, well ...

Sepang blue? What can I say! I defo made the right choice IMO. Seems to change colour in different lights. Really pleased. Go #teamsepang lol Wasn't initially sure about the black pack, but seems to suit this car. Same with the rotors

Picture's of the alcantara /leather interior don't do it justice. The seats and door panels are way nicer in the 'flesh' so to speak. Leather door armrests finish it off nicely. Haven't had much of an opportunity to play with the Audi Drive Select / Damper Control yet, but I was a little disappointed you don't get a 'Damper Control' button, as it integrates with ADS.

Hill hold assit you always had to switch on every time you used it on my old B8 A4. The switch now has a memory function, which I find useful.

Still hate stop/start :(

The 7” TFT dash display is more defined that it was on my B8 A4

The14 speaker (505 watts) B&O sound system is impressive. The DSP surround feature 'works' well. My SD card from my old B8 A4 works no prob. I was testing the system with the Nicki Minaj - Anaconda song lol

I like the interior light pack. Storage pack was worth the £100. A pleasant surprise that I wasn't aware of until delivery was the all electric front seats. Another surprise is that the rear brake calipers are painted black light the fronts. It used to drive me crazy trying to stop my old B8 A4 calipers from 'furring up'.

The S4 won't be Detailed until on or after the 16th June, which will and is driving me crazy, but there's nothing I can do about it TBH. I even wondering when I'll get the time to give it a wash ...

A few pic's for you delectation

Bit of a bonus when I signed all the finance docs. My monthly payment had actually come down just over £10/month as Audi FS had lowered there APR rate. Not much, but as they say every little helps ;)

Freebies - None (But I did get a full tank of fuel, a litre of top up oil, the AMI leads & the first 2 services worth £600-£700, for free :))
Delivery mileage - 8 miles
Tyres fitted - Continental ContiSportContact 3's which have the manufactured date of 13/15 on all 4

Full tank of fuel which was showing 440miles range on the DIS

Insurance - £208 fully comp, protected NCD, the wife & I to drive, 6000 miles per year, garaged £500 excess with Aviva which I was really pleased about as my car is an insurance group 36 car
GAP - 5 year combined vehicle replacement policy with gapinsurance123

From signing the order form to delivery - 73 days (but I did hijack a Dealer order already placed and allocated a Build week)
Build week moved from initial BW20 to BW19

Feeling like this about my new S4!

I was reading that thinking it was a little drastic you asking them not to touch it, the cars come out of my local Audi dealership seem to be in pristine condition, but I suppose this is coming from someone who's not a detailer.

Regardless though, it's a beautiful car and you should be very proud of it, health to drive mate :)

Looks fantastic @Bristle Hound ... and I'm glad you like the colour, I still have my moments when I could easily change my order, saw a Sepang Saloon last week and it looked awesome .. mind you there's a Misano saloon I walk past most days in a neighbours driveway when we walk the dog, and it also looks great .. not sure there is a bad colour for an S4, which probably says it's a good looking well proportioned car, and isn't colour dependent

Alcantara/leather seats look great too, and for some odd reason I really like the nets on the back of the front seats so I'm glad I have ordered the storage pack ..

One thing though, hold the fort, all electric front seats !! Really? I thought you needed to spec the Sports Seats to get electric adjustment

Great write up BH, car looks good, I did exactly the same with an R32 but after a thorough clean I found a major paint problem, so bad in fact the car was returned after six weeks for a full refund. So whilst I let them clean it they are not allowed to 'polish' it.

Look forward to hearing more about the car as you settle into life with it.....

I must admit I did have some second thoughts about sepang, but pleased I didn't in the end. Misano was my 2nd choice TBH. Agreed not a bad colour for the A4/S4's
Storage pack is well worth the £100 IMHO
I was surprised too about the all electric seats. No levers or knobs on the front seats for adjustments

Frightening what Dealers can do to a car just cleaning it -

Just a tip which you may know already but took me ages to find: if you twist the vertical switch it alters the pitch of the seat bucket. Found that out entirely by accident.
