Hi all, new here!

I have an Audi S3 2007, 93k on clock with a gearbox issue. I cannot select reverse gear at all. I can select all others ok but get a crunch when changing.

I haven't checked over the selector cable as of yet and will do that tomorrow. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

Thanks!

Is the pedal spongy? If so, it could be master or slave cylinder. Won't be the lever.

Other possibility is one of the selector forks.

Ok guys little update. Tried the car in reverse again today and nothing. Had a pal watch the selector forks on the box while I tried reverse. The pin that pushes down and engages reverse will not fully depress.

Here is a quick video https://vid.me/PYQJ

Have you ever seen Wheeler Dealers ?. They bought a TT once with gearbox selector issues that turned out to be a selector fork issue. Quite a common problem.
cost them 50p to fix but they had to remove the box first . About 23 minutes on this video.

Karl.

As I said above, selector fork failure is known on these boxes,as is synchro wear, but you would need to get the box out to find the problem.

USP Motorsports in the US make steel uprated forks to fit, which are much better than the cheesy OEM items.

Thanks guys. Does the 8P use the same 02M gearbox as the TT then?
