Although this isn't something I'm looking for in a car it's something I'm interested to hear about from an owners perspective.

Whether it be the noise of your s3, the colour, the look or it might be that your s3 just doesn't appeal or have any of these characteristics

rarely.

I didn't expect it to tbh in any spectacular way what-so-ever. Probably why I choose grey/black cars.

.... then again, Nardo may change that :greyrs4:, but I don't EXPECT it to, it may just do..?

Funny enough s3 seems to be a rarity here even though there's an Audi dealer 3 minutes away. Had neighbors come up to me complimenting it. Even had people at petrol station and delivery guys say the same thing

Yep
Standing in the Chinese a few weeks ago after Audi had done the Guardex and I clocked 4 people do the double take.
I've been asked about whilst refuelling too.
My missus loves driving it as she likes to give it some, especially when goaded by boys in their gti's.
:nogarors4:

Yes,

I've had mine two days and it turned other male Audi drivers heads (The people who can appreciate it)

Also turns heads if you make it pop on the upshift. I've had many compliments on the colour and an offer from a young kid to buy it. Haha. I said go get your own from Audi :/

From time to time. Last week a girl was filling up her TT as I was filling up my S3. She asked me if it was some kind of new Audi Coupe...

Did you exchange numbers and now dating? ;) :D

From what I've noticed, seems to draw most attention from other Audi drivers. Also had a couple of complimentary comments from a couple of guys in a white van in a forecourt.

Yes.. A lot!

Probably because of the colour and the noise it makes! #teamsepang

Oh and the fact I'm very ocd at cleaning so it's never dirty

Always makes me laugh the S3 stealth comments because I have found that anyone with even a slight intrest in cars knows what it is.

Mine has have had a fair amount of attention on the road and at car parks, petrol stations etc. I actually think around town driving it does turn heads as it can be quite noisy!

Sometimes I have seen a few people giving it a glance over but then I have thought maybe they are looking and thinking......"wow, someone who didn't buy a Golf R"

;)

Nope - most regard it just as another A3 or just another car. And lets face it, unless you know anything about cars or have an interest in same, majority of the public wouldn't care or know, as to them a car is a receptacle for getting one from A to B.

Not being noticed or standing out is exactly what I want, as my previous Evo X DID attract attention, mainly the unwanted sort from chav's in Fiesta's or Corsa's who thought because they had a dustbin exhaust which made a noise it could outperform it. Which is part of the reason I got rid of after 2 years of ownership, as after a while you tend to get rather fed up and annoyed with these sort of twazzocks

So be careful what you wish for. And be thankful that it doesn't stand out from the crowd.

I definitely get noticed, pretty much everywhere I drive. Me and the missus caught people taking photos / videos off of it.

Could be cause they love it or hate it, who am I to say, but one thing it does turn heads

Don't ever think a corsa couldn't beat an evo, I built a 2litre turbo corsa that had 300hp and weighed 1000kg and had no problem pulling on evos scoobys, jag s type r, and many m3's

Agree with others in that out of those that do look, most seem to be other Audi drivers. Pedestrians look around in some tight high walled streets where I live, those tail pipes do have a great sound at low RPM! Have had a couple guys come over and ask a few questions about the model etc whilst I was sat waiting at a drive through Costa.

Then again, there aren't a whole lot of S3's around the local area as far as I know; there are four or five 8P's I see around all the time, a couple I see only occasionally. As of yet just driving around the city and its outskirts over the years I've only seen two other 8V's and I kind of know one of those owners, he knows of maybe 6 or 7 in the area. As mentioned before, odd there aren't more in such a large area when there is a dealership 10 minutes from the city centre in a huge retail park!

A few neighbours have complemented the car when I've been cleaning it, ones been taken for a spin on request! Ha

coming out of a red 147 GTA selespeed with a supersprint powerloop exhaust, which is a guaranteed head turner, and puts a smile on everyones face, my brand new Daytona pearl metallic S3 8V, not even a sideways glance in comparison, but I am amazed with just how good a luxuray, performance practical car it is. I have VCDS the exhaust flaps always open, and usually drive it n manual or sport, in dynamic, and it does sound good, not on par with my GTA, but it is faster, more econimical, and comfortable, thinking about a supersprint backbox for the S3 8V, anyone here done one of those ?

98% of the time, it's stealthy but that other 2%, people stare like "what the heck is that?"

Am hoping mine won't attract too many looks as stealth was one of the buying factors. My 8P Black Edition in black got plenty of looks though even though it was a TDI. Not too many S3's around where I am although I see 2 on the same estate, one opposite me.

.......just wish I had mine so I could find out! :sob:

I think colour makes a huge difference. The most eye catching for me is red (which I'd have specced in a heartbeat if my missus didn't hate it!) closely followed by Sepang ;)

Didn't know it was possible via VCDS, I tried it the old fashioned way once.

VCDS coding for exhaust flaps please.....

I get a lot of admiring looks from white van drivers eying mine up. I guess it's the sepango and the fact it's a HB and not SB.
Not having mono.pur helps a tremendous amount too because I'm sure if I had it they would look at it with disdain and think 'show off' :tongueout:

The only person who has noticed mine is the local servo I fill up at and they are dedicated petrol heads - disappointed I didn't take their advice a get a WRX ...... apart from that total stealth.... even the S3 I pulled up next to, at the traffic lights - no form of any acknowledgement :frown new:...

I guess most heads are turned if people see you driving it like a complete idiot. Other than that, it's pretty low key.

Most places i go involve going round corners so i think people are just impressed i made it :)

I get a lot of attention I find, it's most likely the Plastidip I have though?
Also I am stationary in central London a lot, if I was moving more than I guess people wouldn't notice as much!

I agree with your missus. I do not like red either! ( Too flashy for me )

My fave are Black and White ( Glacier ).

All the time. People always comment on it as well. I think glacier is definitely a more stand out colour.

Interesting - I pick up our new Glacier SB on Tuesday. My current brilliant black 8P Black Edition does get admiring looks but conversely doesn't attract attention - can park it up on a night out and it will be ignored. I like to turn heads. But only the right ones!

Totally agree Glacier will turn more heads than Black but still think red and sepang are the stand out colours ;)

I agree with that it receives attention from other Audi drivers but also merc & bmw drivers too!

On a side note, I went on a drive to near Oxford yesterday and saw 3 Golf R's but also 2 McLaren P1's. So in my books the S3 is rarer than both of them!

Think I've had one person comment, but he knew what it was, other than that it seems to be ignored as far as I know. But hey, I'm not looking to see if my car attracts attention, perhaps others do?

The neighbours have been admiring our S3 but probably because it's a shiny new Audi, not because of the model. Pedestrians pretty much ignore it unless I have the B&O blasting. On the road I only get attention from GTI drivers, the occasional kid in a Honda Civic, and once from a Porsche GT3. Needless to say he blew my doors off, but he spent three times as much on his ride and can't drive it in the winter so I win. :blow:
