Hi brake pad warning light is on my 2010 a4 2.0 tdi so looks like I need new front pads but looking in the euro car parts website it seems there are a couple of options depending on what caliper?
Either Lucas or teves?
I can't see anything written on the caliper

If anyone knows which caliper that is it would be much appreciated.

To know the exact model. You must enter your VIN number / or to the dealer to get the exact model for you. I would recommend 1. ATE , Wagner, Ferrodo.
My guess for you is this :
ATE Scheibenbremsbelagsatz 13.0460-2746.2 Vorne für AUDI

Those aren't Lucas TRW calipers so I assume they are the ATE Teves 314mm brakes.
Have a look at carpartsforless, usually cheaper than ECP and they are the same company.
Check the 3 digit PR code on the build sticker of the ca, located in the manual or usually in the spare wheel well of the car.

For 314mm brakes you will find 1LT or 1LY

Karl.

Josh,

did you get any squeak before the light came on?
my front driver side is starting to squeak and only stops when I start braking, someone said it could be the wear indictors
Paul

Thanks Karl that's great help I'll check out carparts4less now and see what's what.

Paul, I'm not sure if there was a squeak before the light was on but there is defiantly a squeak now though must be the wear indicators. There's still a load of pad left I could probably drive at least another year before they are fully worn out.

Have u checked the inner pad. I've heard the outer pads don't wear as quickly so might be the inner that's sqeeking

Karl, mine are 1LA and eibher ones on carparts4less are under 20 quid. Think they will be *****?

Ive just gone for the Eicher ones from ECP. It worked out the same price as carparts4less after I used some voucher code so I can pick them up tonight and fit.

Fitted them this afternoon turned out I needed discs as well so fitted new discs at the same time.
Changing the pads was dead easy nothing out of the ordinary.

How did u know ya needed discs aswell mate

Crumbs, owning and running a reasonable quality car and fitting below average bits, especially brakes does not sound right to me. I've always given ECP 10/10 for branding these parts with a Germanic sounding name though!

I can understand where your coming from but the cheaper pads are fine for the use that my a4 gets on the road. I admit the eicher pads straight away don't have a good a bite as what was in before but they are adequate.
