first service ££££

Don't forget that Audi are now offering to match any tyre replacement cost including fitting and balancing so seems a no brainier not to use them.

That's interesting. When my car car went in to the dealers recently they did a Audi Health Check and gave the tyre depth readings for each tyre and also quoted a figure of £121.18 each to replace the tyres with the same as on the car. My usual tyre depot have quoted £87.00 fully fitted for the same tyres so perhaps I will ask the dealer if they are prepared to match it.

Is £87 a pretty good deal? I had to replace a tyre (after 1000 miles!) due to pot hole damage.
My local tyre dealer charged £100 all in. I thought that was pretty good - Cinturato.

The same tyre depot quotes a fully fiited price of £80 for a Pirelli Cinturato P7 225/45R17 91W.
The £87 is for Dunlop SportMAXX RT 225/45R17 91W as already fitted to my car. I like these tyres are they give excellent grip and a much quieter than a lot.

This is the Audi ad in the Sunday Times re their price match offer.

Just booked my A3 in for it's first long life service at 18,070 miles.

I have also ordered 3 new tyres to be fitted a couple of days later. One has already been replaced a few weeks ago because of a puncture when I was in Germany. Chosen the same tyres, Dunlop SportMaxx RT as supplied with the vehicle. More than happy with them.

My A3 has just had it's first longlife service today at 18,150 miles. The total cost for the service and replacing the Pollen Filter was £276.68. I have also had three new Dunlop SportMaxx RT tyres fitted at a cost of £87.00 each. Hopefully that should be it for another 18k miles.

I got quoted £198 for my A3 Diesel Sportback OIL change (on longlife service sched) at Sheffield Audi yesterday

I was quoted £277 for an oil change and inspection (Audi in Bromley). I've just hit 18,000 miles on the clock. This will be covered by the £399 service plan I took out when I bought the car which covers me for 3 years.

Have to pay £21 for insurance on the car they are lending me though which I'm not happy about ;(

Seems odd you have to pay for that, I've never been asked to pay for insurance before and have had to keep a hire car for 6 days on short notice in the past!

My bill was £330 @ Essex Audi yesterday for the first service at 19,500 miles/12months. So, not too bad and they gave me a decent A6 for the day. That equates to £26 a month, so still working out cheaper than the service plan I was offered. Time will tell if that works out, but only my last two Audis, pay as you go was the better option for me. Tyres have worn well, still got 5mm on all four. My only gripe was being kept waiting around while their service staff turned up late for work.

I am goin to take the Audi £25/month for three years for my S3 to cover all service and maintenance and first MOT and reckon i will be better off on the service contract especially if i opt for fixed service interval. How much were you quoted for a service contract?

Most dealers have a daily hire rate hidden in the small print but this has always been written off for me

My dealers charges £12 if you want to reduce the Excess on the insurance to zero otherwise it's an Excess of £250. No charge at all for just have a loan car. As my excess is £250 on my own insurance I don't bother to pay the £12.

Interestingly I was changed just about the same at Huntingdon Audi - £276.68 for my first service at 18,150 miles.

i got the similar deal and was just short of 600 or somthing, easier to pay off in full rather than constant money coming out

Before letting a franchised dealer do any tyre work I'd personally ask them who would be doing it. In the past I've seen tyre work subcontracted to Kwik-Fit mobile who I personally don't have a very high opinion of at all.

Getting back to OP's question I've today been quoted £157 for the first oil service on my 1.4 COD so I reckon that's pretty good?

I'm having 1st service (oil change) tomorrow. I have a £21 per month service plan over 4 years, which (from memory) covers 4 services and 2 MOTs. Assuming I do need only 4 services and taking account of the 2 MOTs, it seems I'll be paying something like the going rate.

Just got my 1.8 manual serviced at warrington audi. 17,500 miles so oil and pollen filter change. I got charged £266 which at first i thought was expensive. After getting another quote from stockport audi for the exact same service and filter change was £306. I got a loan car of a 1.4cod stronic which i must say feels very quick for a 1.4. It also had adaptive cruise which i was very impressed with. Stronic and acc will be on my spec list for new car.

For those who used the 'price match' what information did you need for the other garage for Audi to price match? I am trying to get them to match a price but feel like they are making as many excuses as possible not to price match.

I told them the price and when they started on the "of course they must use approved materials etc" I told them that it was their own sister Audi dealer (part of the same group). A quick phone call elicited the response that the other dealer "made a mistake on the pricing" but they would honour the price (£159 for first oil service). .

Got a price from an independent, quite a lot less than Audi. Showed them the quote and they said that they needed a list of all the part numbers on the quotation from the garage for them to price match.

First long life service; oil, filter and pollen filter. Anything else?

Ok for a S3 a 3 year service plan is £20 a month , or service and maintenance is £25 a month.
I will be below 10,000 a year so is it good value?
Don't understand the maintenance bit.
What is the extra £60 for?
If a first service in Essex is £330 and guess second will be more sounds like it might be worth taking when I get my S3.

My first Long-life AVS service at 18,150 cost me £276.68 at my normal Audi dealer. The car was 14 months old at the time.

Just had mine done at 2 years and 18,000 miles 365 euro including a Car (A3 TDi Saloon) for the day. Oh they also chucked in the Audi Cup, which was missing when I get the car, an Audi Winter Pack and 2 years free roadside assistance.

First service coming up; already dreading the service after speaking to the guy on the phone -.-

Not ONCE have I ever had a good service (damaged my car, my wheels, etc), always went independent and enjoyed it/things done properly.

Got my 19k service in a couple weeks. Always been looked after by my local Audi dealership, suppose it's luck of the draw there!

I took the Audi 3 year fixed service plan for my previous A4. The thing that got me was the inspection service at end of year 2,the dealership only changed the pollen filter and air filter if after inspection they deemed it required. Needless to say that within the three year period it turned out I only had the oil and oil filters changed three times so the cost of the service plan was certainly not to my advantage.

Out of warranty I started going to an independant with oil change year one, all filters year two using OEM parts and it works out so much cheaper. I want to stick with my really brilliant independant with my MY2016 A3 1.4 COD SB. They always use audi parts so the warranty is protected but I am worried about the software updates. How have others dealt with this or is it not really a problem?

Well it went quite well, also found a small oil leak and sent me the vid but won't be repaired until parts come in. The fact that any bit of oil leaking is occuring is disappointing and that it wont be fixed until at least a week or two, glad its under warranty.

Got my SECOND service in a year coming up?! Surely this is wrong? Had it services at 9500 miles now it says it's due an inspection again? Any advice please

Sounds about right if you're on the standard service, 10k or anually.

Does longlife servicing still apply now? I think thats as and when, so could be 20k miles/2 years?

Yeah that's about right then. Your clocking up the miles quite quickly! I'm just about to take mine in for its 19k service in the first week of October. Had my first service about 13 months ago at 9200 miles.

19k service is an important one so don't miss it out!

@A3_Rider not sure about long life services anymore to be honest..

How come I'm not on the long life one? I thought it would be every 19k for each service which would be once a year. At the moment I'm every 6 months with the miles I'm doing. Can anyone give me advice please. Can I just skip one out or can Audi put me on the 19k service plan??

You are best to ask your service person, but from what I've read they use the same oil now anyway.

I've read the pages in the digital service schedule booklet;

Oil change flexible; as display indicates but must be within 24 months or;
Fixed change; 12 months/9k miles and;
Inspection every 19k/2 years (major service)

So you've had the oil change and now reached 19k miles.
