Hi all, first post on here so perhaps this has been asked before. I have the above model bought late last year and am really pleased with the car. My one frustration though is that I can't play music using the OEM Bluetooth/stereo arrangement and there is no AUX port! So basically I have a premium Spotify membership for instance, and can't use it in the car! I have the double DIN Concert II system.

My question is what is the best (or perhaps the most cost effective, I realise these might not be the same answer!) solution to get A2DP playback functionality, given that I already have the OEM bluetooth system (you'll have to forgive my ignorance if I'm not using these terms correctly) i.e. I'm thinking there must be some kind of simple mod/interface. In my previous car, I fitted a Parrot system which worked perfectly, but looks pretty rubbish - I'm a fan of the OEM stereo unit appearance and find Parrots clutter the dash. I had considered purchasing the RNS-E headunit, but then this would only give functionality via SD/USB I believe - and cost me roughly £350/400? I don't want to go for an aftermarket unit as I don't think these look as good. Ideally Bluetooth would be my preferred method of connection - I've read up on Denison units etc, but I'm still after a bit of guidance where to go with my particular set-up.

Any ideas?

is rns e the only route then? I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going for the premium solution, when a simpler alternative might give me the same function. why is it that audis OEM Bluetooth cannot play music? is there no kind of software mod or plug in that will enable a2dp on a concert II without a full head unit replacement? seems really odd to me that the Bluetooth function is there, but is limited to calls only - I don't know enough about the tech stuff though so forgive my ignorance!

You can use the aux I have posted above and re-pin it to be used on the concert.
There is loads of alternatives out there but there all aftermarket and believe it or not they are better and cheaper, but some of us just prefer to keep everything OEM and unfortunately I am one of them. I have the RNS-e with a Kufatec Fiscon Bluetooth system as I can stream music through it as well as making phone calls, I also have the Aux input.

I'm the same mate with this car - I want everything OEM! how much was your set up? did your car originally have Bluetooth before your upgrade? what is worrying me a little is if I'll somehow interfere with the OEM Bluetooth system by adding an additional Bluetooth system if that makes any sense? or does this setup effectively disable or override the OEM system?

wasn't aware I could just add aux in this way, seems like a cheap route to try out first. how do you mod the pins to fit a concert? I guessing you would mount this in the glovebox somewhere and run a cable?

thanks for responses

Just unplug the original Bluetooth module and fit the new Fiscon, that way it's disabled and as if it was never fitted.

The original and OEM way is it fits in where the cigarette lighter is, the rectangle pocket thing, it's probably easier to google 'Audi a3 aux in location' that way you will see where it needs to go.
