Hi

My car went in for it's first oil change service as it's at 15k miles now. I looked on the paperwork and they said they carried out checks etc and the oil change but nothing about updates etc.

But the second I drove away from the dealer I felt the accelerator pedal was more responsive. I was considering a pedal box prior to service but I might not bother.

I don't know how good the pedal box feel is but this certainly goes towards not needing one!

I know better oil will improve engine pickup etc and smoother running but this is the time it takes when pressing the accelerator to actually getting the feeling of forward momentum. (no acceleration if that makes sense). Less "lagg".

Don't know if anyone else has had a service or dealer visit and experienced the same? My car is a May 2014.

I can't see how the inspection service would make your accelerator pedal more responsive :think:I had my first service last week (19,000 miles) and noticed no change what so ever with the car when I got it back, well other than the filthy hand prints all over the steering wheel and the fact that someone had completely reprogrammed all my car/stereo settings - oh and a quarter of a tank of fuel had gone, yet the car had travelled about 200 yds - QED, someone had the engine running and aircon on full blast for an extended period. A complaint has been made to the service manager, I was utterly ****** off over all that.

Did they give you a crappy courtesy car while it was in?

Complimentary NOS installed?

Strange you say that, I had an Ibiza before my A3 and I took it in for the long life service which was that shell hilux stuff that is also in my A3 and noticed the engine was a lot more responsive (still rubbish though as it was naturally aspirated 1.4)

It's probably just the fresh oil, or they changed your drive select setting or even a software update - you never know!

Maybe they reset the computer and reason for the increase of power since the car is relearning itself?

Car was maybe very low on oil and running like a bag of s~^t

They probably had some young mechanic rag the $hit out of it when moving it out the workshop

AH well didn't know if a software would have been due. I always have it on Dynamic on all settings so should be the best response.....

Maybe I will just remap it and not worry about the pedal box :)

Thats shocking! I check my tracker every time it goes in to see where it went, not caught them out yet though! Hope they recompense you in some way!
